For All the Mods 10 (ATM10), budget 12 GB of guaranteed RAM for one to five players, 16 GB for five to 15 players, and 32 GB for a group of 15 or more. For All the Mods 9 (ATM9), plan on at least 12 GB, about 16 GB for a typical group, and 20 GB or more as the community grows.

The cheapest headline price is not automatically the best value. Compare guaranteed memory, CPU allocation, NVMe storage, backups, support, billing terms and refund conditions. The prices below are provider-listing snapshots available on October 14, 2026; they are not verified live quotations, so confirm the checkout price and inclusions before paying.

Quick verdict: the right RAM target by pack and group size

ATM10’s official server files set an 8 GB Java heap (-Xmx8G), but Java and the operating system need memory outside that heap. That is why Space-node’s 2026 guide starts at 12 GB of server memory rather than treating 8 GB as a complete requirement. Kinetic Hosting also lists 12 GB as its recommended ATM10 allocation.

Modpack and concurrent players Planning target Why this target is used
ATM10, 1–5 players 12 GB Space-node’s recommendation; leaves headroom beyond the 8 GB Java heap.
ATM10, 5–15 players 16 GB More loaded chunks, entities and simultaneous activity require additional headroom.
ATM10, 15+ players 32 GB Space-node’s large-community tier; size upward if several bases and dimensions are active at once.
ATM9, 3–5 players 12 GB minimum GBNODES gives 12 GB as a minimum for this group size.
ATM9, 5–15 players 16 GB GBNODES recommends 16 GB for a typical 5–15-player group.
ATM9, 15+ players 20–24 GB or more GBNODES lists 20–24 GB for 15 or more players; larger communities should leave upgrade room.

ATM9 figures vary because guides assume different player counts and play styles. WiseHosting’s 2026 guide lists 8–10 GB as a recommendation, while HytHost advises 16 GB or more for heavy expert packs such as All the Mods. A practical compromise is 12 GB as the floor, 16 GB for a normal group, and at least 20 GB for a busy community.

What makes an All the Mods server demanding?

All the Mods packs combine hundreds of mods, world-generation systems, machines, automation networks, dimensions and progression scripts. Every loaded chunk can add block entities, mobs and ticking machines. RAM is therefore only one part of the experience: CPU time determines how quickly ticks are processed, storage affects save and chunk-loading latency, and backups protect a world that may represent hundreds of hours of work.

Heap memory is not the same as advertised server RAM

The -Xmx8G value in ATM10’s official files is the maximum Java heap, not a promise that an 8 GB hosting plan is sufficient. Java’s native allocations, garbage-collection structures, the launcher process and the host operating system all consume memory outside the heap. A plan that supplies exactly the heap size can therefore reach its limit even when the in-game memory display does not look full.

Player count is a planning variable, not a guarantee

Two servers with the same number of players can use different resources. A technical expert world with dense automation, multiple dimensions and constant chunk loading can need more CPU and memory than a lightly explored survival world. Treat the player bands above as starting points, then watch actual usage after the first exploration sessions.

Provider and plan information Memory and price shown Notable listing details
Kinetic Hosting 4 GB $4.99/month; 8 GB $7.99; 12 GB $12.99; up to 124 GB $123.99 The 12 GB tier is described for bigger servers or many mods; NVMe storage and 24/7 human support are advertised.
MintServers From $9.99/month; a Xeon 4.0 GHz plan is also shown at $9.99 Advertises unlimited RAM and player slots, plus a 24-hour money-back guarantee. The same page says the pack needs 10–16 GB, so verify the guaranteed allocation rather than relying on the word unlimited.
WiseHosting Blaze 8 GB $11.99/month; Breeze 10 GB $14.99; Ghast 12 GB $17.99 Those prices are shown with annual billing after a 50% discount. Ghast is described as suitable for heavy modpacks such as All The Mods.
Space-node 12 GB €10.80/month Standard or €21.99 Premium; 16 GB €14.40 Standard; 32 GB €29.99 Standard Euro pricing; Premium and Standard tiers should be checked for differences in CPU, support, backups and other inclusions.
ServerPrism 10 GB $23.69; 14 GB $33.16; 32 GB $75.80 The listed 10 GB and 14 GB prices include a 10% lifetime discount.

For a small ATM10 group, the first plan in this table that reaches the 12 GB target is more relevant than a cheaper 4 GB or 8 GB tier. If your group is near 15 players, moving directly to 16 GB avoids paying for a short-lived upgrade. For 15 or more active players, compare 32 GB offerings and the CPU allocation just as carefully as the memory number.

ATM9 hosting plans compared

Provider and plan information Memory and price shown Important qualification
WiseHosting 10 GB $23.99/month; 12 GB $28.79/month billed annually (listed price $35.99) The 12 GB figure is tied to annual billing; confirm the renewal price and cancellation terms.
MintServers From $9.99/month with an unlimited-RAM claim; 32 GB guaranteed minimum tier $19.99 Ask what “unlimited” means in the selected node and request the guaranteed minimum in writing.
ServerPrism 12 GB $28.43; 16 GB $37.90; 20 GB $47.38 The listed prices include a 10% lifetime discount.
HytHost Premium plans from €11.65/month for 9 GB, scaling to 30 GB The 9 GB starting tier is below the 12 GB planning floor for a typical ATM9 group.
DatHost market estimate $35–$50/month for 12–16 GB supporting an estimated 15–20 players This is a general guide estimate, not a quoted plan or a performance guarantee.

ATM9’s conflicting recommendations explain why a 10 GB plan may appear in a provider’s catalog even though a 12 GB or 16 GB allocation is safer for a growing group. Match the plan to your expected concurrent players and the complexity of the world, not simply to the pack name.

How to compare hosts beyond the RAM number

1. Confirm that the memory is guaranteed

Look for a fixed allocation such as “12 GB dedicated” or “32 GB guaranteed.” “Unlimited RAM” generally describes a product policy or a marketing label, not an infinite physical resource. Ask how much memory your instance receives on the chosen node, what happens when the node is busy, and whether the provider can show usage in its panel.

2. Identify the CPU allocation

All the Mods can become CPU-bound even with ample memory. Check whether the plan uses shared vCPUs, a stated processor generation, or dedicated cores. A listing that names a Xeon 4.0 GHz processor gives more information than one that only says “high performance,” but clock speed alone is not a benchmark. No independent tick-rate or CPU tests are established for the plans above, so treat performance claims as unverified until you test your own workload.

3. Check storage type and usable capacity

NVMe storage is advertised for Kinetic Hosting’s ATM10 plans. For any provider, verify that the disk is NVMe or SSD, how much capacity is included, and whether backups consume that quota. Large modpacks, world backups and multiple generated dimensions can grow quickly; a plan with enough RAM but an undersized disk will eventually stop saving.

4. Read the backup policy

Ask how often automatic backups run, how many restore points are retained, where they are stored and whether restores are self-service. A backup on the same physical node is useful for accidental deletion but may not protect against a node failure. Before installing a large update, download a copy of the world yourself and confirm that a test restore works.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

5. Evaluate support hours and migration help

Kinetic Hosting advertises 24/7 human support, while other listings may not specify coverage. Check whether support is available during your play hours, whether staff will help with mod-loader errors, and whether moving an existing world is included. “Managed” should be defined: some hosts only restart the service, while others troubleshoot Java flags and file permissions.

6. Compare billing and refund terms

Annual billing can lower the monthly equivalent but creates a larger upfront commitment. WiseHosting’s ATM10 prices are shown after an annual-billing discount, and its ATM9 12 GB listing is also annual. MintServers advertises a 24-hour money-back guarantee. Confirm the regular renewal price, currency conversion, tax, cancellation deadline and whether refunds exclude setup fees or used time.

Cost planning for different server sizes

One to five ATM10 players

Target 12 GB. In the snapshots, that is $12.99/month at Kinetic Hosting, $17.99/month at WiseHosting’s Ghast tier, or €10.80/month on Space-node Standard. These figures are not directly equivalent: currencies, CPU allocations, support, storage and billing terms differ. A cheaper plan is only cheaper if it supplies the same guaranteed memory and acceptable infrastructure.

Five to 15 ATM10 players

Target 16 GB. Space-node lists 16 GB Standard at €14.40/month. Other providers may require moving from a 12 GB tier to a larger package, so ask whether upgrades preserve the same IP, files and billing cycle. Avoid choosing 12 GB solely because the initial player count is five; planned growth and exploration can make that limit temporary.

Fifteen or more players

Start at 32 GB for ATM10. Space-node lists 32 GB Standard at €29.99/month, while ServerPrism lists 32 GB at $75.80/month. The large price difference demonstrates why CPU, backups, support and node quality must be compared alongside RAM. There is no independent benchmark in the available evidence to establish which listing delivers the best tick rate.

ATM9 communities

For a typical 5–15-player ATM9 group, budget for 16 GB. ServerPrism’s 16 GB listing is $37.90/month, while DatHost’s general guide estimates $35–$50/month for 12–16 GB at 15–20 players. Treat the estimate as market context rather than a promise of capacity. If your group is small, a 12 GB plan may be sufficient; if it is approaching 15–20 players, price 20 GB or more before launch.

A practical buying and setup checklist

  1. Count concurrent players. Use the highest number likely to be online together, not the total number of people on your Discord or whitelist.
  2. Select the pack version. ATM9 and ATM10 have different planning ranges; confirm the exact server files and mod-loader version before ordering.
  3. Choose the next RAM tier above your estimate. Use 12 GB for a small ATM10 group, 16 GB for 5–15 players, and 32 GB for 15 or more. For ATM9, use 12 GB as a floor and 16 GB for a normal group.
  4. Request the specification in writing. Confirm guaranteed RAM, CPU share, storage type and capacity, backup schedule, support hours and the upgrade path.
  5. Check the commercial terms. Record the billing currency, introductory discount, renewal price, annual commitment and refund window before submitting payment.
  6. Install the provider’s supported Java version and server files. Follow the pack’s release instructions exactly; do not replace its startup settings blindly, because the official ATM10 files already specify an 8 GB maximum heap.
  7. Upload or generate the world, then test with the real mod list. Join with several players, explore new terrain, activate machines and visit the dimensions your group intends to use.
  8. Measure before inviting everyone. Watch memory usage, CPU utilization, disk space and the server’s tick-time indicator during a busy session. Keep a downloadable backup before changing Java arguments or adding mods.
  9. Set an upgrade trigger. Upgrade before the server repeatedly reaches its memory limit, pauses during garbage collection, runs out of disk space or misses ticks during normal play.

Common mistakes and how to avoid them

Buying an entry-level plan because the monthly price is low

General hosting roundups often show 4 GB plans at very low prices. Those tiers are below ATM10’s 12 GB starting target and are unlikely to provide a stable experience for the complete pack. Compare plans at the memory level your pack actually needs.

What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Treating a provider’s “unlimited” label as guaranteed capacity

MintServers uses unlimited-RAM and unlimited-slot language in its listing, but the same page describes ATM10 needs of 10–16 GB. Ask for a numerical guaranteed allocation, node limits and the policy for busy hardware.

Allocating every gigabyte to Java

Because the official ATM10 files use -Xmx8G, adding the entire plan size to Java can starve the operating system and native processes. Leave operating headroom and follow the pack’s documented startup configuration unless the host’s support team advises a tested change.

Ignoring the upgrade path

A server can outgrow its original plan as players build more machines and explore more dimensions. Confirm whether RAM can be increased without changing the address, whether the world remains intact, how long the change takes and whether the new price is prorated.

Assuming more RAM fixes every lag problem

Additional memory cannot compensate for a weak or oversubscribed CPU, slow storage, an overloaded network or a misbehaving mod. If memory remains available while tick time is poor, provide the host with timing data and investigate CPU allocation, chunk loading and the specific mod activity causing the load.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

When to upgrade or move

Upgrade when the server reaches its memory ceiling during ordinary play, when Java spends frequent pauses reclaiming memory, or when your planned concurrent count moves into the next RAM band. Move providers when the host cannot offer the required guaranteed memory, CPU allocation, backup reliability or support response. Export the world, server configuration, permissions and mod list first; keep the original instance online until the replacement has been tested and a restore has been verified.

Final buying guidance

For most small ATM10 groups, a genuinely guaranteed 12 GB plan is the sensible starting point. Choose 16 GB when five to 15 players will share the world, and 32 GB for a 15-plus community. For ATM9, use 12 GB as the minimum, 16 GB for a typical group and 20 GB or more for larger communities. Among the listed offers, prices range widely because the products are not identical; validate the current quote, guaranteed resources, CPU, storage, backups and support before committing.
