Treat any settings as a starting point: confirm the headset is connected to the platform you’re using, make modest G HUB adjustments, and judge them with your own game audio and voice chat. If your microphone sounds choppy or unclear, check its Noise Gate before changing other mic settings.
Start by confirming the A50 X is connected to the right platform
Before tuning, make sure the headset is connected and selected for audio on the system and in the game or voice-chat app you intend to use. The A50 X supports PLAYSYNC switching among Xbox, PS5, and PC/Mac. Logitech G lists direct HDMI 2.1 console connections, with 4K 120 Hz passthrough for Xbox Series X|S and PS5, and USB-C for PC/Mac. The product listing says an HDMI cable is sold separately; check the regional product page for current bundle details. Logitech G’s A50 X product page describes the connections and features.

Logitech G confirms that G HUB can customize the headset and that on-ear Game/Chat controls are available on Xbox, PC, and PS5. Its reviewed product material does not provide a universal EQ curve or a recommended numerical mix ratio. The suggestions below are preference-led starting points, not official presets or tested settings. Logitech G’s product information and G HUB’s product page describe the supported customization.

Use G HUB to adjust the sound gradually, rather than starting from a curve presented as objectively best. The right balance depends on the game, the sounds you want to emphasize, and what remains comfortable over a longer session.

- Open G HUB and select the Astro A50 X when it appears as a connected device.
- Save or note your current EQ before changing it, so you can return to a familiar baseline.
- Choose a representative game and listen at a comfortable, consistent volume. Change only a small amount at a time, then compare the result with your previous setting.
- Try the adjustment with the kinds of game audio you care about, and keep it only if it improves clarity or enjoyment without making other sounds distracting or tiring.
Logitech’s reviewed sources do not publish A50 X slider values or an official preset for footsteps, FPS games, music, or streaming. Avoid treating a particular frequency curve as Logitech’s recommendation; use your own listening to decide whether an adjustment helps.
Set Game/Chat mix by what you need to hear
Use the A50 X’s on-ear Game/Chat balance to shift emphasis between gameplay and voice chat. Start near the center as a neutral point for your own adjustment—not because Logitech identifies a centered mix as a factory default or best setting.

- Voices overpower the game: move it toward game audio, then reassess whether teammates are still clear enough.
There is no source-backed ideal ratio. The useful setting is the one that lets you follow the game and the people you are playing with in your current setup. Logitech confirms the on-ear balance feature for Xbox, PC, and PS5 on its A50 X product page.

Astro A50 X mic settings: troubleshoot choppy or unclear audio
If other people say your mic cuts out, sounds choppy, or is unclear, check Noise Gate first. Logitech Support warns that an overly aggressive Noise Gate can cause choppy or unclear microphone audio and recommends turning it off in G HUB or G Mobile while diagnosing the issue. If the problem persists, connect the headset directly to the PC or game system instead of through a USB hub or docking station. Follow Logitech’s instructions in its A50 X microphone troubleshooting article.

Logitech publishes a 16-bit, 48 kHz LIGHTSPEED microphone uplink specification for the A50 X. That is a manufacturer specification, not a recommended mic setting or independent measurement; it does not establish an ideal gain, Noise Gate threshold, or microphone EQ curve. The product page lists the specification.

If mic quality or Xbox Game/Voice balance reporting remains problematic after basic checks, look at Logitech’s current A50 X support and software information. Logitech release notes say firmware 1.1.26 addressed degraded microphone quality on certain systems, HDMI compatibility with certain monitors, and Xbox Game/Voice balance reporting. Those are specific fixes, not a promise that the update resolves every audio or connection issue. See Logitech’s A50 X release notes for the update details.
