There is no single beginner Jade established as best for every player in Nine Sols. Pick one to address the problem you want to solve, then check that its computing-power cost fits your current capacity. For a documented early progression option, Cultivation Jade increases enemy experience; its exact effect and location are below.
How the Jade System works
Jades are equipment items made by Fangshi that provide offensive, defensive, or utility effects. You must repair the Jade System before configuring it at a Root Node. Abacus Ruyi repairs it at the Four Seasons Pavilion after you reactivate him with the Mystic Nymph, according to the Nine Sols Wiki’s Jade System guide.

Computing power determines how many Jades you can equip. The same guide reports a starting capacity of 2, a maximum of 10 after collecting Computing Units, and Jade costs ranging from 1 to 3. A higher-cost Jade can use more of your available capacity; a cheaper one may leave room for another effect. The guide does not establish one optimal beginner loadout.

Choose a Jade for the problem you have
- Want faster experience progression? Cultivation Jade is a documented option, with a specific cost and location described below.
- Need offense, defense, recovery, or utility? The broader Jade list includes effects across these categories, but the sources reviewed do not establish a reliable beginner ranking for them. Check the current in-game description and cost before committing capacity.
- Trying to solve a particular boss fight? Match the effect to the difficulty you are facing and what you are comfortable using. Do not treat a named Jade or setup as mandatory without checking its actual effect and availability in your game.
Cultivation Jade for experience
The Nine Sols Wiki’s Cultivation Jade page states that it costs 2 computing power and increases experience gained from enemies by 10%; the result gives no publication year for this figure. It also says you can find the Jade in a chest in the top-left corner of Yinglong Canal. These are the guide’s reported effect and location, not independently tested figures.
Cultivation Jade does not increase Tao Fruit rewards. Tao Fruits grant skill points directly rather than experience, according to the same Cultivation Jade guide. If your aim is specifically to collect Tao Fruits, this Jade does not address that goal.
What to check before equipping a Jade
- Read its effect in your game. Decide whether it addresses the issue you are trying to solve, rather than choosing by name or general reputation.
- Check its computing-power cost. Compare the cost with your current capacity and the other effects you want equipped.
- Confirm you can obtain it now. Availability and prerequisites are not established for every candidate in the sources reviewed here.
- Try it as an option, not a rule. Adapt the setup to your playstyle and the encounter; no researched source establishes a required beginner build.
Why there is no definitive beginner tier list here
The Nine Sols Wiki’s broad Jade reference covers varied effects and costs, while a 2024 100% Guides location video states that it covers 28 Jades. Those references help show that players can tailor setups, but neither establishes which Jade is best for beginners. The Stasis Jade result available here identifies the item but does not provide its effect or acquisition location, so it cannot support a specific combat recommendation.
Rank #2
For an informal question like “what’s a good jade for early bosses?”, the useful answer is to identify the particular difficulty first, then choose an effect whose in-game description fits it and whose cost you can afford. Community discussion can reflect how players ask the question, but it is not evidence that one setup works best for everyone.
