Treat 2K’s profiles as hardware-specific starting points, not guarantees for every PC. The available official guidance gives useful graphics and performance baselines, but does not establish universal mouse or controller sensitivity and dead-zone values.
Set a resolution and frame-rate target first
Choose the resolution you want to play at and a frame-rate target your PC can reasonably maintain. Resolution, frame-rate limit, VSync, and display mode are among the PC options listed by 2K’s Borderlands 4 PC features page. The available modes are Fullscreen, Windowed Fullscreen, and Windowed; options may differ by system configuration.
2K’s AMD optimization guide sets broad expectations of 1080p at 30 FPS on Low for minimum PC specifications and 1440p at 60 FPS on Medium for recommended specifications. These are published targets, not guarantees or independent benchmark results.
Choose a graphics preset that fits your hardware
The listed presets are Low, Medium, High, Very High, and Badass. Begin with a preset appropriate to your hardware, then adjust settings based on actual play rather than assuming a named preset will behave identically on every system.

2K’s AMD examples illustrate why a profile should be treated as a baseline. Its RX 5700 XT example targets 60+ FPS at 1080p with Fullscreen, VSync off, anti-aliasing disabled, FSR Balanced, and many settings at Low. A separate RX 9060 XT example uses FSR and frame generation, with a mix of higher geometry, texture, and filtering settings and low volumetric effects. These are GPU-specific recommendations from 2K, not results that apply to all graphics cards.
Test upscaling and image quality
The PC features page lists DLSS, FSR, TSR, and XeSS as resolution-scaling methods, with choices from Ultra Performance through Performance, Balanced, Quality, and Full Resolution. Which choices appear can depend on your hardware and configuration. NVIDIA’s guide discusses DLSS options, including Multi-Frame Generation 4x and Performance upscaling; frame-generation support and available modes depend on compatible hardware. Check NVIDIA’s current Game Ready driver releases rather than relying on an old driver version.

Compare options in the same gameplay conditions. Check whether the result meets your frame-rate target and feels consistent, then judge image clarity and smoothness on your display. Lower upscaling quality settings may affect clarity, while frame generation and the balance between latency and visual smoothness depend on your hardware and preferences; the cited guides do not establish universal performance gains.
Adjust individual graphics options and evaluate changes
If a preset or upscaler is not a good fit, the listed controls include anti-aliasing, resolution scaling, field of view, and a custom frame-rate cap. The game also supports horizontal field of view adjustment and ultrawide displays. Change one setting at a time where practical so you can identify which change improves the experience without sacrificing more image quality than you want.

Allow for shader recompilation before judging a graphics change. 2K’s AMD guide says shaders recompile after graphics settings change and advises playing for at least 15 minutes before evaluating the performance difference. Avoid drawing conclusions from the immediate post-change period; compare similar gameplay conditions after that interval.

No verified current source here establishes specific mouse or controller sensitivity, aim acceleration, ADS, or dead-zone values for Borderlands 4. There is therefore no supported universal number to recommend, and the available evidence does not establish that the game lacks these controls. Tune the controls shown in your current in-game menu to your preference rather than treating an unverified value as objectively best.
