You can play casino-style games on a PC for free or, where local law permits, for real money. Free or demo play lets you learn the rules but does not pay real winnings; real-money gambling puts your money at risk. No casino game can guarantee a big win. If you want to compare games, focus on the specific version’s odds and rules—not the promise of a jackpot.
What “casino PC games” means
Casino games on a computer usually fall into two categories: free or demo games, and real-money games offered through a browser or a PC-compatible gambling service. Free play can be useful for learning buttons, rules and pace without depositing money, but any credits or wins in that mode have no cash value. Real-money play is different: it is gambling, and legality depends on where you are and whether the operator is authorized there. Casino.com’s overview of online casino games discusses both formats.

“Win big” is not a reliable way to choose a game. A game’s return to player (RTP) is a long-run statistical percentage, not a forecast for one session. Actual results can vary widely, and the game version, rules, pay table and—in some games—your decisions all matter. Gambling.com’s game comparison and house-edge guidance provide the figures below; they are comparisons for selected versions and conditions, not guarantees.
Which casino games have the better odds?
The figures below are useful for comparing the cited game types, but they do not make every game in a category equivalent. RTP is the theoretical share of wagers returned over a very large number of plays; the house edge is the corresponding theoretical casino advantage. Neither tells you what will happen in your next session.

| Game or bet | Source-reported RTP / house edge | What affects the comparison |
|---|---|---|
| Blackjack | Up to 99.5% RTP / about 0.5% house edge in selected cases | Requires correct strategy and favorable table rules; other versions can differ. |
| Video poker (Jacks or Better) | Around 99.5% RTP for selected versions | Depends on the pay table and decisions made during play. |
| Baccarat, banker bet | About 98.9% RTP / 1.06% house edge | Applies to the banker bet in the comparison, not every bet or variant. |
| Craps, pass/don’t-pass comparison | About 98.6% RTP / 1.4% house edge | Craps has many bets with different odds; this is not a figure for every wager. |
| European roulette | About 97.3% RTP / 2.7% house edge | The comparison is for a single-zero wheel. |
| American roulette | About 94.7% RTP / 5.26% house edge | The compared version has a different wheel format from European roulette. |
| Slots | 92%–98% typical RTP range | The exact game, volatility and jackpot structure matter; outcomes are luck-led. |
| Live dealer games | Not one common figure; RTP varies by game and rules | Compare the specific table game and its rules rather than treating live dealer as a single odds category. |
Gambling.com reported these figures in 2026. The blackjack and slots ranges come from its game guide; the other comparisons are in its house-edge guide. The figures are not independently tested results and should not be read as a promise of a particular return.
How to choose a game for your PC
“Best” depends on whether you want to practise, make decisions, play at a faster pace or watch a dealer-led game. Before choosing, check these details:
Rank #2
- Join the party with your favorite slots off the casino floor at home on your PC!
- Spin through many special features and bonus rounds.
- Earn Achievements, track "Real World" and "Dream World" statistics, and unlock slot after slot!
- 15 slots included. Some content requires unlocking through gameplay.
- The games include Kronos, Crystal Forest, Colossal Wizards, Buffalo Spirit, Hearts of Venice, Kingdom of the Titans, Wild Zone, Spartacus: Gladiator of Rome, Exotic Treasures, Triple Golden Cherries, Sea Tales, Eye of the Dragon, King of Africa.
- Luck or decisions: Blackjack and video poker give you choices that affect play; slots are primarily luck-led. Decisions do not remove the house edge.
- Exact rules and pay table: A category-wide RTP is not enough. Look for the particular game’s posted RTP or house edge and review its rules before wagering.
- Learning curve: Slots are simple to start; blackjack, video poker and craps require learning rules or bet choices. Free play can help you understand mechanics without risking money.
- Format and pace: Random-number games are typically software-based; live dealer games stream a dealer-led table. Live dealer describes a format, not a single set of odds.
- Availability and protections: Confirm that the game and operator are permitted where you are, and look for practical controls such as deposit and time limits.
For decisions and strategy: blackjack
Blackjack involves choices such as hitting, standing, doubling and splitting. It is a strategy-oriented option, but the cited maximum of 99.5% RTP applies only to selected versions with favorable rules and correct strategy. Check the table rules and use a basic strategy reference to learn decisions; strategy can improve long-run results under suitable conditions, but it cannot guarantee a win or change the rules.
For poker-hand decisions: Jacks or Better video poker
Video poker uses poker hand rankings and a pay table. The cited comparison puts selected Jacks or Better versions around 99.5% RTP when played with correct strategy. That figure depends on the specific pay table and the choices you make, so inspect both before playing.

- Hoyle Slots and Hoyle Swashbucklin' Slots
For mostly luck-led table play: baccarat and craps
Baccarat requires relatively few decisions; the cited 98.9% RTP applies to the banker bet, not every wager. Craps offers a wider menu of bets: the cited 98.6% comparison covers pass/don’t-pass, while other bets can have different odds. Learn what each bet means rather than applying one figure to the whole game.
For wheel games: compare roulette versions
European roulette’s single-zero format is compared at about 97.3% RTP, while American roulette is compared at about 94.7%. Those are meaningful differences for the versions cited, but neither format removes the house edge.
For variety or jackpots: slots
Slots offer varied themes, volatility and jackpot structures, but results are luck-led. The cited 92%–98% range is broad; check the exact game information rather than assuming every slot sits at the high end. A larger jackpot does not make a win more likely or make RTP a session forecast.
For a streamed table: live dealer games
Live dealer games put a streamed dealer-led table on screen, often for familiar games such as blackjack or roulette. Their odds depend on the underlying game and rules, so compare the individual table rather than treating “live dealer” as an odds category.

Check legality and operator safeguards before real-money play
PC access does not mean real-money gambling is legal everywhere. Laws and licensed operators vary by country and, within the United States, by state. Verify current rules with the regulator responsible for your location, then use only an operator authorized there. Nevada’s approved game rules list is a state-specific example of a regulator publishing game rules; it does not establish that a particular website is available to you.
Protection requirements also depend on jurisdiction. In Great Britain, the UK Gambling Commission says businesses it regulates must ask customers to prove their age and identity before gambling. Its guidance also explains self-exclusion; under that arrangement, a business must close the account and return funds. These are Great Britain-specific rules, not a global standard.
In the United States, the National Council on Problem Gambling describes iCAP as a voluntary accreditation for online gambling operators licensed or regulated in a U.S. jurisdiction. Its measures include self-exclusion, deposit limits and access to support. Accreditation can be one protection signal, but it is not a substitute for checking that an operator is licensed for your location. See the iCAP program information.
Set limits that keep play entertainment
If you choose to gamble, decide in advance what you can afford to lose and how long you will play. Use deposit or time limits where available, do not borrow to gamble, and do not chase losses by increasing stakes. Stop if play is no longer enjoyable. Betting systems and bonuses do not overcome a game’s house edge.
