For a prerecorded lofi loop that should stay live on YouTube without a home computer running, StreamNeo is the first option to consider: upload your video or playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and start the stream from the cloud. It supports uploaded video at up to 4K 60fps as made, at one flat price per slot, with a free first day. For other workflows, Gyre is listed by YouTube as a cloud-based service for continuous prerecorded streaming; a self-managed virtual machine offers control at the cost of setup and maintenance.
What to compare before choosing a cloud service
A lofi radio stream is usually a prerecorded video or playlist sent continuously to YouTube. The cloud service keeps the encoder running away from your home PC, but it does not itself secure music or visual rights, guarantee YouTube will accept the stream, or guarantee uninterrupted delivery.
- Input and workflow: Is the service designed for uploaded prerecorded videos, or does it expect you to build a live-media pipeline?
- Operations: Will the provider run the stream and handle recovery, or will you install, monitor, and restart the encoder?
- Cost: Include storage, compute, and outbound data transfer where applicable; a VM’s headline compute price is not the full cost.
- Limits and recovery: Confirm stream duration, storage, simultaneous streams, account permissions, restart behavior, and support terms directly with the provider.
No apples-to-apples total-cost or uptime comparison is established for these services. Plan prices and terms can change, so check current provider pages before committing.
Cloud services and approaches
| Option | Best fit | Trade-offs |
|---|---|---|
| 1. StreamNeo | A creator who wants a prerecorded YouTube stream running from the cloud without managing an encoder server. Upload a recording or playlist, add the YouTube stream key, and go live. | One always-on stream per slot, 10 GB storage per slot pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, and automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. Uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, without re-encoding or quality tiers. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. See StreamNeo for current terms. |
| 2. Gyre managed cloud streaming | Creators arranging prerecorded videos into a continuous YouTube stream who want a managed service rather than a self-run VM. | YouTube’s verified-encoder directory describes Gyre as cloud-based and for 24/7 streaming of prerecorded videos. Check current plan limits, pricing, account permissions, and restart and support details with Gyre; vendor growth claims are not independent evidence. |
| 3. Self-managed cloud VM, such as a DigitalOcean Droplet | Technically comfortable operators who want control over the encoder and server. | You install and maintain the software, monitor the process, and plan restart and recovery behavior. DigitalOcean documents Droplets as Linux virtual machines and bills for outbound transfer beyond included allowances; budget for compute and transfer together. The available documentation does not establish a suitable VM size for a particular resolution or encoding workflow. |
| 4. AWS live-media workflow | More complex production or teams already operating AWS media services. | AWS documents MediaLive for encoding and MediaStore or MediaPackage with CloudFront for live-channel delivery. This is a broader broadcast architecture, not automatically the simplest way to send one loop to YouTube. |
| 5. Google Cloud Live Stream API | An operator specifically building on Google’s managed live-stream pipeline. | Google Cloud documentation says a channel may be restarted after 24 hours in an active streaming state. Design around that behavior and check current quotas; this limit should not be generalized to other services. |
Set up YouTube ingest and a prerecorded loop
The service you choose must send an encoder feed to YouTube. YouTube’s guide says to use the Live server URL and stream key in the encoder; software or hardware can act as the encoder. Keep the key private. Enabling live streaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours, so enable it before a scheduled launch. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; that guidance does not establish automatic archiving for a continuous stream longer than 12 hours.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Clear the material for streaming. Confirm that you have rights to both the music and visuals for a continuous YouTube live stream, not merely a local copy or personal listening. Check any Content ID requirements with the rights holder.
- Prepare the loop. Choose a video or playlist and ensure the files are available to the service or VM. For a managed service, verify its accepted formats, storage allowance, and playlist behavior before uploading.
- Enable YouTube live access. If this is the channel’s first live stream, allow for YouTube’s stated activation period of up to 24 hours.
- Copy the ingest details. In YouTube’s live control room, obtain the Live server URL and stream key, then enter them in the encoder or managed service’s YouTube connection settings. Do not share or publish the key.
- Start and monitor. Confirm that YouTube receives the feed and that the correct video is playing. For a VM or API-based workflow, arrange monitoring and a restart procedure; do not assume a cloud host will recover an encoder process automatically.
Or let it run in the cloud
With StreamNeo, the flow is three steps: upload a recording or playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Your computer and home connection do not need to stay on. Uploaded video streams at its original quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot; StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, and the monthly option is $9.99 per month. India-based creators can pay by UPI; cards are available worldwide. Start the free day with StreamNeo.
Copyright and YouTube live-stream interruptions
YouTube scans live streams for third-party content, including copyrighted material in another live broadcast. Its guidance says the stream may be replaced with a placeholder, interrupted, or terminated if copyrighted content is identified and remains in the stream or a strike applies. A license alone may not prevent an interruption: the rights holder may need to add your channel to its Content ID allowlist. Obtain written rights that cover both the music and visual loop, and confirm Content ID handling before launch.

Common problems and what to check
- YouTube does not receive a feed: Recheck that the Live server URL and stream key were copied correctly into the encoder, and that the key has not been exposed or replaced.
- The stream stops after running for a long time: Check the service’s duration and restart rules. Google Cloud’s documented 24-hour active-channel behavior applies to its Live Stream API, not automatically to every cloud platform.
- The stream is interrupted or replaced: Review YouTube’s copyright guidance and any Content ID notice. Ask the rights holder to confirm that the channel is allowlisted where required.
- A self-managed stream does not resume after an encoder failure: The operator owns process monitoring and restart behavior on a VM. Build and test those operational steps rather than treating cloud hosting as automatic recovery.
- The bill is higher than the VM price: Include outbound transfer as well as compute. DigitalOcean documents charges for transfer beyond included allowances; actual cost depends on the selected plan and usage.
- A continuous stream’s archive is missing or incomplete: YouTube’s stated automatic-archive rule covers streams under 12 hours; do not rely on it for longer sessions.
Choose by the work you want to own
For a single prerecorded lofi channel, favor a service explicitly built for continuous uploaded-video streaming if minimizing server administration matters. Gyre is specifically identified by YouTube for that use case, while StreamNeo offers cloud looping with automatic recovery and a free first day. Choose a self-managed VM when server control is worth the setup, monitoring, transfer budgeting, and maintenance. Consider AWS’s broader media architecture or Google Cloud’s API when they fit an existing production stack, and account for the documented restart behavior of the latter.
