This is the strongest match here for a group that wants to decide its own direction rather than follow a sequence of compact missions. The trade-off is that it includes survival pressures alongside exploration. Hello Games puts the cross-play promise plainly: “Thanks to cross-play, you can play together no matter which platform you’re on.” That is the company’s statement; check that your specific platforms and editions remain compatible before buying.

Deep Rock Galactic turns exploration into a team operation: descend into procedurally generated caves, mine, navigate destructible terrain, and fight hostile creatures. Its official PlayStation page describes a one-to-four-player co-op FPS and four distinct classes.

Nintendo’s official Switch 2 listing describes online crews exploring alien worlds, completing expeditions, gathering resources, and developing gear and loadouts; it lists online co-op and cross-platform play. The listing gave a June 11, 2026 release date, so as of October 4, 2026 it is a current released option.
