Divinity: Original Sin 2 is the most straightforward recommendation for someone who wants another tactical party RPG from the studio behind Baldur’s Gate 3. Larian lists both games in its official catalog, and describes Divinity: Original Sin 2 as a tactical RPG with co-op for up to three other players: Larian’s games.
Bandai Namco describes the Definitive Edition as a narrative-driven sandbox RPG with six Origin Characters and a party of four. Its feature list highlights turn-based combat, character building, multiplayer and elemental interactions with the environment. That combination gives battles room for planning and improvisation rather than relying only on attack-and-defense exchanges. - Same studio, different game: It is a natural next Larian RPG, but it does not use BG3’s setting or character system, and the two should not be treated as identical in rules or storytelling.
Platforms and edition
Bandai Namco’s European page lists the Definitive Edition for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Its North American page lists PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in one section, and PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in another. Store listings can vary by region and edition, so check the local listing for the platform you use.
Best for tabletop-style tactics: Solasta II
Choose Solasta II if your priority is tabletop-style combat and careful positioning, rather than another game with the same overall feel as BG3. Developer Tactical Adventures describes combat that rewards using cover, high ground and character placement, with party abilities that players can coordinate in solo or multiplayer. Early Access status and co-op
The developer’s FAQ lists Solasta II on PC through Steam in Early Access and says multiplayer supports groups of up to four. It estimates the current Early Access experience at around 10–15 hours, depending on playstyle. Those details describe the version covered by the FAQ and may change as development continues; check the developer’s current page for the latest status. The FAQ says other platform plans will be communicated later and aims for version 1.0 about a year after Early Access begins. It should not be mistaken for a completed full release.

Why this list is deliberately short
Other games often mentioned alongside BG3 include Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, Wasteland 3, Dragon Age: Origins, Pillars of Eternity and Solasta: Crown of the Magister. They may suit different players, but their current systems, platform availability and editions are not established here well enough for a detailed comparison. In particular, tactical combat can mean turn-based play or a different structure, so check each game’s official product page before choosing based on combat style alone.
