The best PUBG PC depends on your monitor. For competitive 1080p gaming, prioritize a fast gaming CPU, 32GB of DDR5 memory, and a balanced midrange GPU. For 4K, shift more of the budget toward the graphics card. A sensible new 2026 baseline is 6–8 modern CPU cores, 32GB DDR5, a 1TB NVMe SSD, and—where the budget allows—a GPU with at least 12GB of VRAM.
PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS’ published requirements are useful as a compatibility baseline, but they are too old and low to serve as modern competitive-build targets. The recommendations below are build-planning guidance, not controlled 2026 PUBG benchmark results, so exact frame rates will vary by map, patch, settings, resolution, thermals, drivers, and background software.

Prices change by country, retailer, taxes, and availability. Treat component classes as buying guidance rather than fixed shopping lists.
Official PUBG requirements versus a sensible new PC
The official Steam listing and PUBG Support page publish substantially lower requirements than most new buyers should target. PUBG Support describes its standard recommended specification as suitable for up to 144fps in most situations, while its separate competitive specification is intended for high frame rates and high-refresh displays. Neither statement guarantees a particular frame rate in every match.

Best value 1080p PUBG build
This is the balanced choice for 1920×1080 competitive settings, high settings, and 144Hz- or 165Hz-class monitors.
- CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Ryzen 7 9800X3D, or a current equivalent gaming processor.
- Cooler: A quality tower air cooler or equivalent 240mm liquid cooler.
- Motherboard: B650- or B850-class AMD board, matched to the processor’s generation and required connectivity.
- RAM: 32GB as two 16GB DDR5 modules.
- GPU: RTX 5070-class or RX 9070-class.
- Storage: 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD.
- PSU: Quality 750W–850W 80 Plus Gold unit with the connector required by the exact GPU.
- Case: Airflow-focused mid-tower with at least three effective fans.
This allocation avoids building around obsolete DDR4-era parts while leaving room for high settings, other games, or a future monitor upgrade. It should not be marketed as a guaranteed 240fps system without controlled testing.
Best 1080p high-refresh and competitive build
For a 240Hz-class display, the CPU, memory configuration, cooling, and frame-time consistency matter more than simply buying the largest available GPU.
- CPU: Ryzen 7 9800X3D, Ryzen 7 9850X3D, or a comparable current gaming CPU.
- Motherboard: Quality B850- or X870-class board chosen for BIOS support and connectivity, not unnecessary premium features.
- RAM: 32GB DDR5 in a matched dual-channel kit. Choose 64GB for heavy streaming, editing, or multitasking—not PUBG alone.
- GPU: RTX 5070 Ti-, RTX 5080-, RX 9070 XT-, or comparable-class.
- Storage: 2TB NVMe if several large games will be installed.
- PSU: Usually 850W Gold for a high-end single-GPU system, checked against the exact card’s recommendation.
- Cooling: Strong air cooling or an appropriately installed 240mm/360mm liquid cooler.
At 1080p, moving from one already-capable GPU to a flagship card may produce less benefit than choosing a faster gaming CPU or improving frame-time consistency. CPU performance also cannot fix poor network quality, inconsistent servers, or gameplay skill.

Best 4K PUBG build
For 3840×2160, the graphics card deserves the largest share of the budget. A reasonable starting point is:
- CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D, 9800X3D, 9850X3D, or a similarly capable modern gaming CPU.
- RAM: 32GB DDR5.
- GPU: RTX 5080-class or RX 9070 XT-class, depending on pricing, settings, upscaling preferences, and feature requirements.
- Storage: 2TB NVMe SSD.
- PSU: Typically 850W–1000W Gold, subject to the exact GPU model.
- Monitor: 4K 120Hz or 144Hz if you want to benefit from performance above 60fps.
Do not pair a flagship CPU with a modest GPU merely to create a premium-looking parts list. For a 4K-focused system, a slightly less expensive high-performance CPU and a stronger GPU is generally the better budget allocation. Claims about DLSS, FSR, frame generation, or their exact PUBG behavior should be checked against the current PC build before purchase.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesHow to choose the CPU
PUBG benefits from strong gaming performance and consistent frame times, particularly at 1080p with a high-refresh monitor. More cores are not automatically better for this game. A modern 6-core/12-thread CPU can be adequate for gaming, but eight cores is a more comfortable new-build target if you want several years of use, streaming, recording, or other applications.
X3D-style gaming processors are attractive when their price premium is reasonable, but they should not be used to justify a weak GPU in a 4K build. Intel alternatives, including contemporary Core Ultra gaming processors, can make sense when a complete prebuilt is substantially cheaper or when productivity workloads matter. Intel’s gaming CPU reference sheet compares specifications; it is not evidence that one processor delivers superior PUBG FPS.
How to choose the GPU
- 1080p/60: A modern budget GPU is sufficient for PUBG alone.
- 1080p/144–165Hz: Balance a midrange GPU with a strong gaming CPU and 32GB of RAM.
- 1080p/240Hz: Prioritize CPU consistency, cooling, memory configuration, and low background activity before buying a flagship GPU.
- 4K/60: Put more of the budget into the GPU.
- 4K/120–144Hz: Expect a costly system whose result depends heavily on settings, upscaling, and the exact GPU.
For a new multi-year gaming PC, 12GB of VRAM is a more comfortable target than 8GB where the budget permits, although the requirement depends on texture settings and the rest of your game library. NVIDIA’s older PUBG GPU guidance is historical context, not a 2026 buying recommendation. NVIDIA materials identify RTX 5070 and RTX 5080 products; a stated $549 RTX 5070 reference value should be treated as a launch signal, not a guaranteed retail price.

RAM, storage, and the parts that are easy to overlook
RAM
Choose 32GB DDR5 by default, installed as two 16GB modules. One 32GB module can restrict memory bandwidth and is a common prebuilt warning sign. Use 64GB for clear multitasking, streaming, content creation, modding, or capacity headroom—not because PUBG’s official recommendation is 32GB.

Storage
Use an NVMe SSD for Windows and PUBG. Its main benefits are loading, installation, update, and general responsiveness; it does not guarantee higher average FPS. Choose 1TB as a practical minimum and 2TB for a multi-game library, while leaving free space for updates and avoiding a nearly full drive.
Power, cooling, and case
Match PSU wattage and connectors to the exact GPU. Prefer a reputable Gold-rated unit, and do not cut the power supply budget to fund RGB or a premium motherboard. Confirm GPU length, CPU-cooler height, radiator support, and unobstructed intake and exhaust before ordering.
After assembly, enable the correct memory profile—such as EXPO or the applicable platform equivalent. Update BIOS only according to the motherboard maker’s instructions. Overclocking is not required for PUBG; PUBG Support warns that CPU, RAM, or GPU overclocks can complicate stability and corruption troubleshooting.

Build and troubleshooting checklist
- Install Windows and motherboard chipset drivers.
- Install the current NVIDIA or AMD graphics driver.
- Update BIOS if CPU or memory support requires it.
- Enable the motherboard’s memory profile.
- Install PUBG on the SSD.
- Set Windows to the monitor’s advertised refresh rate.
- Use an FPS cap appropriate to the monitor and observed frame-time behavior.
- Measure frame times and 1% lows, not only average FPS.
- Disable unnecessary overlays while troubleshooting.
- Avoid copied launch commands unless a current authoritative source recommends them.
If PUBG crashes or stutters, verify game files, update Windows and graphics drivers, restart the PC and router, check temperatures and clock speeds, and remove Steam launch options. PUBG Support’s current crash and performance guide specifically recommends removing overclocks during diagnosis.
For meaningful comparisons, record the PUBG build, map, resolution, render scale, graphics settings, driver version, average FPS, and 1% lows. Results from different patches, maps, settings, or resolutions are not directly comparable.
Upgrade priorities
- GPU: First for 4K or higher visual quality.
- CPU and platform: First for very high-refresh 1080p when the GPU is already adequate.
- RAM: Upgrade when the system has 16GB, one module, or frequent multitasking pressure.
- SSD: Upgrade when capacity is inadequate.
- PSU: Upgrade when a new GPU exceeds the current unit’s wattage, connector, or quality requirements.
An AM5 platform can be a sensible upgrade-friendly foundation, but no platform is automatically future-proof. Check the exact socket, BIOS support, motherboard power delivery, cooler compatibility, and memory requirements.

- Choosing parts from PUBG’s official minimum specification.
- Treating the official “up to 144fps” recommendation as a guarantee in every scene.
- Pairing a high-end CPU with a weak GPU for 4K.
- Buying 16GB or single-channel memory for a new system.
- Installing PUBG on a hard drive.
- Choosing a PSU by wattage alone.
- Spending on RGB, premium boards, or excess storage before funding the GPU.
- Assuming every stutter is a GPU limitation.
- Comparing FPS from different patches, maps, settings, or render scales.
- Comparing a laptop GPU directly with a desktop GPU carrying the same model number.
A cheaper or used system can be appropriate for 1080p/60, PUBG-only gaming, competitive settings, or a major discount on previous-generation hardware. Verify warranty status, temperatures, stability, PSU age, and the card’s history; a small discount is not worth unknown mining or heavily modified hardware.
