Tales of Symphonia Remastered has no documented graphics preset or 60 FPS toggle in Bandai Namco’s published specifications. The practical choice is platform output: on Switch, use TV mode for 1920×1080 or handheld/tabletop mode for 1280×720; the publisher lists the game at 30 FPS on Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. These are published specs, not results from hands-on performance testing.
What settings can you actually change?
The requested “Definitive Edition” name refers to Bandai Namco’s official release, Tales of Symphonia Remastered. The publisher describes visual enhancements and quality-of-life changes, but its published material does not document a user-adjustable graphics menu or a supported 60 FPS option. There is therefore no verified list of presets, resolution sliders, or performance toggles to recommend.

The settings guidance that can be supported is choosing the platform and, on Switch, the play mode. Bandai Namco’s production-team Q&A and official product information list these display specifications:

Sources: Bandai Namco’s production-team Q&A, published November 9, 2022, and the official Japanese product site. The Japanese site calls the console output Full HD / a maximum of 2K; its published figure is 1920×1080, not 4K. The sources do not provide comparable real-world image-quality or frame-pacing tests, so these specifications do not establish which console looks or runs best.

Best choice on Nintendo Switch
Docked: prioritize output resolution
Use TV mode when the Switch is docked and 1920×1080 output is your priority. The official figure describes the TV-mode output; it does not establish a separate in-game resolution setting or a guarantee of how every display processes the image.
Handheld or tabletop: choose portability
Handheld and tabletop modes are listed at 1280×720. They are the portable options; the publisher does not document a separate handheld graphics preset or a way to raise that mode’s listed output resolution.

What the remaster changes visually—and what it does not promise
Bandai Namco says the remaster has sharper, crisper visuals than the earlier Tales of Symphonia Chronicles and Steam releases, with enhanced character models and environments. The official descriptions also mention FPS stabilization for certain techniques at 30 FPS. That is a specific improvement claim, not a promise of 60 FPS or a published benchmark for the whole game.

Other documented changes include improved controls for sea travel, the ability to skip some events and cutscenes (some scenes cannot be skipped), and additional date information on the save screen. These are quality-of-life changes, not graphics controls.

What to expect on PC and newer consoles
For PC, Bandai Namco says the Steam version runs at 30 FPS and includes the in-game content found in the remaster. The reviewed official sources do not provide a current PC graphics-menu guide or independent PC performance measurements, so they do not support a specific GPU recommendation, preset, or tweak recipe.
Bandai Namco lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S play through backward compatibility. That does not establish a native next-generation version, a higher resolution, or an unlocked frame rate. The published 30 FPS figures apply to the listed PS4 and Xbox One releases; the reviewed specifications do not separately characterize performance on newer hardware.

Content and edition clarification
Tales of Symphonia Remastered is described as an enhanced version of Tales of Symphonia, with content carried over from Tales of Symphonia Chronicles, including costumes, Compound Unison Attacks, Mystic Artes, both opening themes, and an option to switch between Japanese and English voice acting. Bandai Namco says there is no new story content made exclusively for the remaster. Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World is not included.
