Best Graphics Settings for Stable Minecraft Dungeons II Performance on PC

Mojang publishes PC hardware requirements, but not a tested graphics preset or target frame rate. Here’s how to check your hardware and troubleshoot symptoms carefully.

There is no verified “best settings” preset for Minecraft Dungeons II on PC in the official information available as of October 4, 2026: Mojang lists hardware requirements, but not graphics controls, recommended values, target frame rates, or tested performance. Use the published requirements as a readiness check, then troubleshoot one symptom and one change at a time rather than treating an unverified preset as a guarantee.

Start with the official PC requirements

Mojang’s store page lists these minimum and recommended PC specifications. They are hardware baselines, not a promise of stable frame rates at a particular resolution or graphics quality.

Specification Minimum Recommended
Graphics card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050, AMD Radeon RX 560, or equivalent dedicated GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060, AMD Radeon RX 580, or equivalent dedicated GPU
Graphics memory At least 2 GB VRAM At least 6 GB VRAM
Processor Intel Core i3-8100 or AMD Ryzen 3 2200G class Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 class
System memory 8 GB RAM 16 GB RAM
Operating system Windows 10 64-bit (version 1703 or newer), x64 architecture Windows 10 64-bit (version 1703 or newer), x64 architecture
Graphics API DirectX 11 DirectX 11

Compare your actual GPU and VRAM with the official Minecraft Dungeons II requirements. A card below the minimum is a clear compatibility concern; a card at or above the recommended class still does not establish a particular FPS or guarantee smooth play.

Identify the problem before changing graphics

“Bad performance” can mean different things, and lowering visual quality will not necessarily fix every symptom. Before troubleshooting, note your GPU model and VRAM, display resolution, game build, and what you experience.

  • Unstoppable Power – Equipped with the Intel Core Ultra 7 265F processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 GPU, 16GB DDR5 RAM, and 1TB SSD PCIe 4.0 storage for seamless gaming and multitasking.
  • Optimized Thermals – Stay cool with a quad-fan system, while dust filters and efficient airflow ensure long-term reliability.
  • Advanced Connectivity – Game without lag with 2.5Gbps Ethernet, Wi-Fi 6, and versatile ports. Dolby Atmos audio and AI noise cancellation enhance sound and communication.
  • Ready for Upgrades – Designed with tool-less access, easily swap out components, ensuring future-proof performance for years to come.
  • Low frame rate: The game looks consistently slow. If the game provides a resolution or quality option, test a lower value and compare under the same conditions.
  • Stutter: Motion pauses or hitches intermittently. Record when it happens and whether it repeats in the same scene; do not assume blur-related fixes address it.
  • Blur or pixelation: The image looks soft or blocky, including when the game is not moving. Check any available resolution or upscaling controls before changing unrelated settings.
  • Ghosting or other artifacts: Trails or visual distortions appear around moving objects. Treat this separately from low FPS; changing broad quality settings may not address it.

The available official sources do not document the game’s in-menu graphics controls. If a listed control is absent in your build, do not assume it exists under another label or edit configuration files to imitate it.

Use a controlled settings test, not a claimed preset

Because no setting-by-setting performance tests or official preset are established, the following is a troubleshooting procedure—not a verified recommendation for a particular PC.

  1. Record a baseline. Write down the GPU and VRAM, resolution, game build, current settings as shown in your copy, and the specific symptom. If you can measure frame rate or frame times consistently, record those too.
  2. Change one available setting. For low frame rate, try reducing a resolution or graphics-quality option that is actually present. For blur or ghosting, test only a directly relevant image or motion option if the game exposes one. Do not change several settings together.
  3. Repeat the same situation. Revisit the same scene or activity at the same resolution and compare the result with your baseline. Note whether the symptom improved, worsened, or stayed the same.
  4. Keep or revert the change. Retain it only if it improves the problem without an unacceptable image-quality cost. Record the outcome, then test another single setting if needed.

This approach helps distinguish a genuine improvement from a change in scene, resolution, or several variables at once. It does not replace a reproducible benchmark for a named GPU, driver, and game build.

Be cautious with community configuration edits

A Reddit discussion includes one player’s report of blur and ghosting on a particular PC and relays another user’s suggestion to edit Engine.ini. That is an uncontrolled community report, not evidence that Minecraft Dungeons II has a general image defect or that the edit is safe, effective, or supported by Mojang. See the individual community discussion for context; do not treat the proposed edit as an official fix.

Platform notes for PC players

Minecraft’s launch announcement says Minecraft Dungeons II launched September 29, 2026, for Steam, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. The official launch announcement establishes availability, not a PC graphics preset or performance benchmark.

For Steam Deck users, a Mojang notice posted October 1, 2026 says the Steam version should be playable, while noting remaining issues such as missing on-screen keyboard functionality and planned further work toward full verification. That dated statement does not say the game is fully Steam Deck verified. Details are in the October 1 Steam Deck update.
