For a horror game that actually arrived in spring 2025, start with Look Outside, a single-player survival horror RPG set in an apartment building. If you want multiplayer instead, Dead by Daylight offers an established killer-versus-survivors format, while Lethal Company is built for cooperative groups of up to four. These are recommendations by play style, not a measured ranking of which game is scariest.

Best new spring 2025 horror game: Look Outside
Look Outside is the clearest choice if you want a new release from the season rather than an older multiplayer game. Steam dates it to March 21, 2025 and describes it as “a survival horror RPG set in a single apartment building.” Its premise centers on a mysterious event that turns people who look outside into monsters.
What the game offers
Steam lists scavenging, resource management, turn-based combat, and multiple endings. The confined apartment setting makes it a fit for players looking for a self-contained, solo horror experience rather than a group session. Steam estimates a 10–12-hour playtime; that is the store’s estimate, not a measured completion time. The accessed listing does not state when that estimate was published.
Content and PC requirements
Steam’s content notice flags horror scenes, frequent violence, and gore. Its accessed listing gives these minimum PC requirements:

Best asymmetrical multiplayer pick: Dead by Daylight
Choose Dead by Daylight if the appeal is a match built around opposing roles: one player is the killer and the others play survivors. GameSpot describes it as a long-running game with ongoing updates and licensed collaborations, and gives its original release date as June 14, 2016. It is an established multiplayer option for spring 2025, not a game released that season.
