CODMunity describes this MW3 multiplayer setup as balancing horizontal recoil control with acceptable accuracy and decent mobility. Why the Kastov LSW suits a close-to-midrange class
Activision identifies the Kastov LSW as an MWIII light machine gun introduced in Season 6 through the Battle Pass, and describes its intended role as short-to-medium range. The official Season 6 announcement highlights its high fire rate and accuracy in Tactical Stance, and lists a fast reload and a 100-round default magazine. That capacity is a weapon specification, not proof that the gun or this setup is currently effective in multiplayer.

Alternative builds by playstyle
These are earlier third-party recommendations, not current balance checks. Choose between them based on how you want to take fights, rather than treating any one as universally best.

How to tune the class for your matches
The recommended setup prioritizes recoil management and mobility, but your preferred range and firing style can change which attachment trade-offs make sense. Use the in-game Gunsmith to compare the listed effects and test the gun in the mode you play.
- Engagement distance: For short-to-medium fights, prioritize a setup you can control while moving. If you regularly take longer angles, compare recoil and range effects in Gunsmith rather than assuming a dated long-range build will suit current balance.
- Aiming versus hipfire or Tactical Stance: An optic-centered setup supports aiming down sights; the Dexerto alternative is built around hipfire and movement. Tactical Stance is a distinct consideration for this weapon, but a historical attachment interaction is not a guarantee of current behavior.
- Recoil: The versatile setup is described as managing horizontal recoil, while first-shot kick remains. Check the weapon’s behavior with the opening shots as well as during a sustained burst.
- Mobility and aiming speed: Attachment benefits can come with handling costs. Compare the actual in-game effects and how the weapon feels instead of selecting parts by name alone.
- Ammunition and magazine: The weapon’s announced 100-round default magazine does not establish which ammunition setup is strongest now. The ONE Esports build’s 5.45 High Grain Rounds are a dated recommendation; check their current effect in Gunsmith.
- Unlocks: The sources establish the Kastov LSW’s Battle Pass launch context and list an 18-level progression in the 2024 Season 6 announcement, but do not establish present-day unlock requirements for each attachment above. Check the current game for attachment availability.
Why there is no confirmed “best right now” build
The available recommendations date from April 2025, October 2024, and September 2024. They do not establish an optimal October 2026 setup, current attachment-by-attachment results, or current multiplayer usage statistics. Use the versatile setup as a starting point and check current patch notes and in-game attachment effects before calling any configuration the current meta.

Activision’s Modern Warfare III: Weapons and Loadouts guide notes that the best build depends on playstyle, that filling all five attachment slots is not always optimal, and that displayed stats are only a general guide. Attachment descriptions and hands-on play help reveal how a weapon actually handles.
