Dead Cells: Netflix Edition is a confirmed current pick for Netflix members who want a demanding action game they can play offline. Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition launched on Netflix in 2023, but its presence in the current catalog has not been confirmed. Netflix’s catalog, dated September 9, 2026, lists more than 120 mobile games; check your Netflix app for current, regional availability before looking for GTA.

What are the best games on Netflix?

Netflix Games is a mobile-game catalog accessed through a Netflix account and profile. Netflix says games are included with membership, with no ads, extra fees, or in-app purchases. The service’s catalog page lists more than 120 mobile games, but availability and compatibility can change. The picks below focus on what the cited official listings establish rather than unsupported review scores or rankings.

Dead Cells: Netflix Edition

This is the clearest current recommendation in the available catalog: an action game for one player, with offline play and controller support. Netflix rates it 13+ and lists a minimum of Android 8 or iOS 15. Netflix Help names Playdigious as the developer. The Netflix edition launched with the original game’s free and paid downloadable content included at no extra cost, according to Netflix’s October 2023 announcement; that is launch-era packaging information, not a statement about other editions or current terms.

Important save limitation: Netflix says, “This game doesn’t use cloud saves.” If you uninstall it or move to a different device, you start over. That makes it a better fit for someone who expects to keep playing on the same device than for someone who regularly switches phones or reinstalls games. Netflix’s Dead Cells support page explains the behavior.

Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition

Netflix announced the trilogy for December 14, 2023, for members on the App Store, Google Play, and Netflix’s mobile app. It brought mobile-adapted versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas. That launch is a documented part of Netflix Games’ history, but the Netflix catalog page dated September 9, 2026, used for this guide lists Dead Cells and does not list GTA. That does not establish when or whether GTA was removed in every region. Check the current catalog in your app and your device’s app store rather than assuming the trilogy is still downloadable through Netflix. Netflix’s 2023 announcement documents the original release.

How to find and install Netflix Games

You need an active Netflix membership, a compatible mobile device, enough storage, and an internet connection to download and install a game. Netflix says its mobile games are available on Android phones and tablets, iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, but compatibility varies by game.

  1. Check the game’s listing and your device. Confirm the game is available to you and that your device meets its requirements. Netflix recommends Android 9 and iOS/iPadOS 17 for the best overall experience; an individual game may publish a lower minimum, such as Dead Cells: Netflix Edition at Android 8 or iOS 15.
  2. Open Netflix or your device’s app store. Find the game in the Netflix app’s games row or shortcut, or search for it directly in Google Play or the Apple App Store. Follow the store prompts to install it.
  3. Use the right profile and start the game. If a title does not show up, check whether your device is compatible and whether the profile’s maturity setting permits its rating.

For the detailed installation steps and eligibility requirements, see Netflix’s guide to finding and downloading mobile games. For its general rules on game saves and the distinction between Netflix games and versions released by publishers or developers, see Netflix’s save-support page.
