There is no settled, objective ranking of the best PC arcade games of all time. The picks below are an editorial selection spanning two kinds of play: direct PC versions or collections of games made for coin-op arcades, and PC games built around arcade-style action, competition, or score chasing. That distinction matters: a modern maze-chase built for high scores can feel arcade-like without being a port of an original arcade machine.

Best classic arcade games and collections on PC

These picks are rooted in coin-op arcade games: individual classics or collections that bring multiple arcade titles to PC. Storefront availability can vary by region and change over time, so check each listing before buying.

1. IGS Classic Arcade Collection — best recent collection for co-op brawling and shooting

Released on Steam on August 12, 2026, IGS Classic Arcade Collection brings together eight games: Knights of Valour: Super Heroes, Knights of Valour Plus, Knights of Valour 2 – Nine Dragons, Oriental Legend, Oriental Legend Spooky, Martial Masters, Demon Front, and The Gladiator. The Steam listing describes it as a collection of “8 classic IGS arcade hits in one collection.”

It suits players who want several arcade action styles in one package, including beat ’em up and shooter selections, and who may want to play with others. Steam lists online or local multiplayer depending on the title, with support for up to four players. It also lists adjustable difficulty, save/load, customizable key mapping, move lists, and display options. Those features give players more control over an arcade collection than a bare emulation-style menu would.

Steam lists minimum requirements of Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz processor or better, 4 GB RAM, a GeForce GTX 460 or better, DirectX 11, and 2 GB of storage. The listing warns that display issues may occur at higher resolutions. Requirements and listing details are from Steam’s page, which may change: IGS Classic Arcade Collection on Steam.

2. Capcom Arcade Stadium — best breadth in a classic arcade compilation

Capcom Arcade Stadium is a multi-game collection recommended for its breadth and presentation options, including display filters that can help recreate the look of older screens. It is a useful choice if you want to browse a library rather than commit to one arcade loop. PC Gamer also points readers to Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium as a related alternative. The recommendations do not establish a current storefront status or a complete game-by-game comparison, so check the PC store listing for the version and games available in your region.

PC Gamer’s December 22, 2025 retro recommendations discuss the collection and related picks: PC Gamer’s retro recommendations for 2026.

3. Galaga — best compact classic shooter

Galaga is the straightforward pick for a focused, repeatable shooter. Its appeal lies in learning the enemy formation patterns and making use of the rescue mechanic, which gives a run a clear risk-and-reward hook. PC Gamer included it among its retro recommendations published December 22, 2025. Check the current PC storefront listing for availability in your region.

4. Golden Tee Arcade Classics — best for sports-arcade nostalgia

For a change from shooters and brawlers, Golden Tee Arcade Classics brings arcade golf into the mix. PC Gamer reported trying the collection on Steam and discussed its Golden Tee ’99 presentation in comparison with MAME. That is an editorial anecdote, not a formal compatibility review; it does not establish performance on every PC or configuration. Read the account here: PC Gamer on Golden Tee ’99.

Best arcade-style PC games

These games belong on an arcade list because they emphasize quick action, mastery, competition, or score chasing—not because every one began as a coin-op release.

5. PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX+ — best modern maze-chase for score chasing

PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX+ updates the familiar maze-chase loop around high scores and leaderboard competition. A Pro Game Guides roundup updated October 3, 2021, highlighted customizable difficulty, music, and characters. Those are useful reasons to consider it if you want the familiar pursuit of a better run with modern presentation options. The recommendation is dated, however, and does not establish present-day PC storefront availability; verify the listing before purchase.

Rank #2
Arcade1Up Ms. Pac-Man Class of '81 Deluxe Arcade, 12 Retro Games

  • Crisp Stereo Sound: Dual speakers deliver classic arcade soundtracks and effects just like you remember, bringing every game to life with rich audio

6. Ikaruga — best demanding shoot ’em up

Ikaruga is for players who enjoy learning a demanding shooter through repeated attempts. Its coin-op feel comes from a tight arcade loop and the satisfaction of improving through mastery. The 2021 Pro Game Guides list recommended it for its challenge and replay value, but that article should not be treated as confirmation of current availability.

7. Tekken 7 — best combo-focused competitive fighter

Tekken 7 represents the opponent-focused, competitive side of arcade play, with combo-oriented fighting. It is a candidate for players who want to practice matchups and execution rather than chase a single-player score. Pro Game Guides included it in 2021; that recommendation does not establish its present storefront status or current online community activity.

8. Street Fighter V — best fighter with an arcade framing

Street Fighter V is another competitive fighting pick, with an explicitly arcade-oriented framing in the 2021 roundup and online competition as part of its appeal. Because that recommendation is several years old, check the current PC listing and community status rather than assuming the 2021 picture still applies.

9. Wild Guns Reloaded — best arcade-style co-op shooter

Wild Guns Reloaded is an arcade-style inclusion rather than a direct arcade port: the cited roundup notes that the original was not itself an arcade game, although it has strong arcade influences. Its cooperative shooting makes it a good fit for players who want a shared action game rather than a solo score chase. Pro Game Guides included it in its roundup updated October 3, 2021; current storefront availability should be checked separately.

The 2021 recommendations for PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX+, Ikaruga, Tekken 7, Street Fighter V, and Wild Guns Reloaded come from Pro Game Guides’ Best Arcade Games on PC. They are candidates and descriptions, not a current availability guide.

How to choose the right PC arcade game

  • For original coin-op games: Start with Galaga or a collection such as Capcom Arcade Stadium or IGS Classic Arcade Collection.
  • For co-op: Look at the IGS collection, where multiplayer availability varies by title, or consider the arcade-style Wild Guns Reloaded.
  • For high-score runs: Try PAC-MAN Championship Edition DX+ or Galaga.
  • For a steep mastery curve: Choose Ikaruga.
  • For competitive matches: Consider Tekken 7 or Street Fighter V, but check current online activity before choosing based on multiplayer.
  • For sports arcade play: Try Golden Tee Arcade Classics.

The lists behind these recommendations do not use a common scoring system or establish a definitive all-time order. The ranking here weighs how clearly each pick delivers arcade play, the variety of its loop, and—where the available details support it—features such as score chasing, multiplayer, and accessibility options. Availability, system requirements, and online activity are not established consistently for every title, so verify those details on the relevant PC storefront before buying.
