Shacknews writer John Schutt reports finding five across two raids there, though that is personal experience—not a drop-rate estimate or guarantee. Testing Annex on Dam Battlegrounds is a useful alternative, and Buried City has several other medical-loot areas worth checking.
Where to look for Cracked Bioscanners
Cracked Bioscanners are associated with medical loot, so prioritize areas with medical rooms rather than searching for one guaranteed container. Shacknews lists Medical Research on Stella Montis, Testing Annex on Dam Battlegrounds, and several Buried City locations as places to search. Loot spawns and player activity vary between matches.
Medical Research, Stella Montis
This is the lead recommendation. Shacknews writer John Schutt says it is probably the best of the areas he covered and reports finding five scanners over two raids. That anecdote can help you choose a route, but it does not establish how often a scanner spawns or what you should expect to find in a run. Shacknews’ location guide.
Testing Annex, Dam Battlegrounds
Try Testing Annex if you want an alternative medical-loot area. Shacknews describes it as generally drawing less PvP than Hospital or Research in Buried City. That is a qualitative comparison, not a promise of a quiet run; other players may still be there.

Medical areas in Buried City
Shacknews lists Hospital, Research, Plaza Rosa, and Piazza Arbusto as options. All Things How singles out Hospital for its size and concentration of medical rooms. These locations may be useful if you are already running Buried City, but expect competition and match-to-match variation.
How to search each medical area
Check containers and visible loose loot rather than relying on one room or spawn point. Search medical drawers and cabinets, then scan nearby surfaces and furniture. - Look over shelves, beds, bedside trays, desks, and counters for loose items.
- Check carts, benches, and medical trolleys as you move through the area.
- Once you have the scanner, decide whether to extract rather than continuing to search and risking its loss.

MetaForge and All Things How also give two scanners as the usual requirement, but All Things How notes reports of a three-scanner prompt.
