Can you play PS4 games on PC with an emulator?
Sometimes, depending on the game and the emulator’s current state. The official shadPS4 Quickstart warns that many games do not work and that games that do may still have emulation issues. Booting a game is not the same as having a complete, stable playthrough.

How do you get started?
- Check the requirements and your game. Read the Quickstart and consult the compatibility resource for your specific title before downloading.
- Choose the user-facing build route. The project points end users to QtLauncher. Its downloads page describes the launcher as a GUI that can download emulator releases and prereleases. The GitHub core releases are command-line oriented, so QtLauncher is the more approachable route for ordinary desktop use.
- Use your own legally sourced game files. The Quickstart says games, updates, and DLC are copyrighted and must be dumped from your own copy. It explains how to install a game dump and add updates or DLC; do not obtain these files from unauthorized download sources.
- Supply firmware modules from your own PS4 when needed. The Quickstart explains that loading modules can improve compatibility where functionality has not been reimplemented. The README says required modules must be dumped from a legally owned PS4.
- Connect a controller if you want one. The project README says Xbox and DualShock controllers work out of the box. A controller is optional, not a stated system requirement.
