These are recommended pairings rather than necessarily boxed “combos.” Buying the keyboard and mouse separately usually gives you better control over layout, shape and fallback options.
What “compatible with PS5” actually means
There are three separate tests:
- Recognition: Does the PS5 detect the keyboard or mouse?
- Connection mode: Does it work through its USB cable, Bluetooth connection or 2.4GHz receiver?
- Game support: Does the particular PS5 game accept keyboard and mouse during gameplay?
A device can pass the first test and fail the second or third. A keyboard might work for text entry while the game ignores it during play. A mouse may function in menus but not in gameplay. Console editions can differ from PC editions, and developers can change input support through patches. Some competitive games may also limit or separate keyboard-and-mouse players.

Do not treat Windows or macOS compatibility, Xbox support, Bluetooth discovery or impressive PC specifications as proof of PS5 compatibility. There is no dependable Sony-maintained product-by-product compatibility list in the supplied official material.
Best overall: wired USB keyboard and mouse
For readers who want the lowest-risk purchase, choose two standard USB HID peripherals: a wired TKL, 75% or full-size keyboard and a conventional wired mouse. Connect both directly to the PS5 rather than beginning with a hub.
This route has the fewest variables: no Bluetooth pairing, no wireless receiver firmware, no battery charging and no Logitech G HUB, Razer Synapse or SteelSeries GG dependency. It is also the easiest setup to diagnose if only one device works.
What to look for
- A detachable USB-C cable if you want easy replacement or a longer cable.
- Standard keys, dedicated arrows and a function row for strategy games, MMOs and text entry.
- A mouse with onboard DPI switching and a comfortable shape.
- A cable long enough to reach the console without tension.
- A return policy that covers compatibility if the game or connection mode does not work as expected.
The trade-offs are cable clutter, two occupied USB ports and less convenient couch use. A USB extension may help, but test the devices directly first; hubs and extensions add another possible failure point.
Best premium wireless candidate: SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Wireless Gen 3
The Apex Pro TKL Wireless Gen 3 is a strong premium candidate because its TKL layout preserves arrow keys and the function row while taking less space than a full-size board. SteelSeries lists adjustable actuation from 0.1 mm to 4.0 mm, Rapid Trigger, Protection Mode and Rapid Tap.
Those features are valuable on a PC, but they are not evidence of PS5 support. The retrieved product information lists PC and Mac rather than PS5. Treat the wireless dongle mode as unverified unless the retailer or manufacturer confirms the exact model and a reproducible PS5 test supports it. Its wired connection is the more defensible fallback, but even that should be tested rather than assumed.

Best low-profile candidate: Razer DeathStalker V2 Pro TKL and DeathAdder V3 Pro
The Razer DeathStalker V2 Pro TKL is designed for users who prefer a laptop-like, low-profile feel. It offers wired, Bluetooth and 2.4GHz connection modes and can pair with up to three Bluetooth devices. That makes it convenient for a desk or couch setup, but Razer’s supplied support material does not confirm PS5 compatibility for each mode. HyperSpeed should not automatically be treated as PS5-compatible.
The DeathAdder V3 Pro is a lightweight right-handed mouse at a claimed 64 g. Razer lists five onboard DPI stages, onboard memory, USB-C charging and up to 90 hours of claimed battery life. Its standard polling rate is 1,000 Hz; a separate HyperPolling dongle can increase that on supported systems. These are manufacturer specifications, not proof that every feature or wireless mode works on PS5.
Razer says Synapse is required for configuring button mappings and macros. Configure what you need on a computer, store it onboard where supported, then test the mouse on PS5. Extra side buttons and layers may not be exposed to the console.
Best Logitech candidate: G915 X or G515 TKL with G502 X LIGHTSPEED
Logitech’s G915 X LIGHTSPEED TKL is a low-profile wireless TKL keyboard. The G515 LIGHTSPEED TKL is a lower-profile alternative in Logitech’s gaming range. The G915 X had a listed US price signal of $229.99 in a 2026 price sheet, but treat that as a dated reference rather than a guaranteed current retail price.

Community reports are mixed: some users report success with Logitech and Razer wireless products, while others report failures or wired-only operation. Use those reports to identify risks, not as confirmation. If you choose Logitech, retain the cable and test each device independently before relying on one shared receiver.
Wired versus wireless on PS5
Wired USB
Advantages: the highest likelihood of basic recognition, no pairing, no batteries and easier troubleshooting. Disadvantages: cables, occupied ports and possible issues introduced by hubs or long extensions.
Bluetooth
Bluetooth needs no receiver and is convenient for typing and menus. Gaming features may be unavailable, reconnection can vary, and a device can appear in the Bluetooth list without being usable. Sony explicitly warns that incompatible devices may be listed. Bluetooth is best treated as a convenience mode, not automatic proof of gaming suitability.

A dedicated receiver is usually intended for low-latency gaming and often offers better battery performance than Bluetooth. But PS5 behavior depends on the exact receiver, firmware and device mode. The console may recognize the dongle but reject input, or a device may work wirelessly on PC and only work wired on PS5.

USB keyboard
- Plug the keyboard directly into a PS5 USB port.
- Open Settings > Accessories > Other Accessories.
- Configure keyboard language, key-repeat delay and key-repeat rate.
USB mouse
- Plug the mouse directly into a PS5 USB port.
- Open Settings > Accessories > Other Accessories.
- Choose left-handed or right-handed operation.
- Adjust pointer speed.
Bluetooth keyboard or mouse
- Put the device into Bluetooth pairing mode.
- Go to Settings > Accessories > General > Bluetooth Accessories.
- Select the device.
- If it fails to reconnect, return to the registered-accessories list and select Connect.
Discovery alone is not a compatibility test. Confirm that the device works in the PS5 interface and then inside a game that explicitly supports keyboard and mouse.
2.4GHz receiver
- On a Windows or Mac computer, update the keyboard, mouse and receiver firmware if the manufacturer provides an updater.
- Configure DPI, lighting, button assignments and onboard profiles before connecting to PS5.
- Plug the receiver directly into the PS5, not a hub.
- Test the device in the PS5 interface and then in a compatible game.
- If wireless fails, connect the supplied USB cable.
- Try the other PS5 USB port and remove receiver-sharing or extension hardware.
- Reset the device and repeat its manufacturer pairing procedure if necessary.
PS5 keyboard-and-mouse troubleshooting
The keyboard works but the mouse does not
The game may support keyboard input but not mouse input, or the mouse may be using an unsupported wireless mode. Test the mouse in the PS5 interface, then test wired mode and a game known to support both inputs.

The device appears in Bluetooth but does nothing
Discovery is not proof of compatibility. Remove the device, restart the PS5 and try a wired connection if available. Re-pair it through Settings > Accessories > General > Bluetooth Accessories.
Wireless works on PC but not PS5
Possible causes include a PC-only driver, receiver firmware, receiver-sharing configuration or unsupported console HID behavior. Try the cable, direct receiver connection and a different USB port. If wireless operation is essential, buy only where returns are practical.
Extra mouse buttons do not work
PS5 may accept only standard mouse inputs. Configure mappings in the manufacturer’s desktop utility and save them to onboard memory if the mouse supports it, but do not assume macros, DPI buttons or layers will be available in games.
The game still shows controller prompts
This can be normal. Some games accept keyboard and mouse while retaining controller prompts, or change prompts only after detecting keyboard or mouse movement.
What to check before buying
- Exact model: avoid assuming a similarly named revision behaves the same way.
- Connection mode: verify wired USB, Bluetooth and 2.4GHz separately.
- Fallback: prefer wireless products that also support wired operation.
- Software: configure PC-only features before connecting to PS5.
- Layout: TKL is the best general-purpose choice; low-profile boards suit couch use.
- Mouse shape: ergonomic right-handed designs suit palm and claw grips; symmetrical shapes are safer for shared or left-handed use.
- Game support: confirm the individual game’s current PS5 version supports both devices.
- Returns: compatibility is not guaranteed merely because the product appears in the console menu.
PS5 and PS5 Pro should be treated as the same platform for keyboard-and-mouse support unless Sony or a manufacturer documents a model-specific difference.
