First-person shooters (FPS)
In an FPS, the action is seen through the character’s eyes. The category includes distinct experiences: competitive multiplayer, story-led campaigns, and open-world play. Decide whether you want to focus on a solo campaign or play with other people; the camera alone does not tell you what a game’s central experience is.
Third-person shooters (TPS)
A TPS keeps the player character visible on screen. That perspective can suit cooperative action as well as other shooter formats. Helldivers 2 is a concrete co-op example: PlayStation Direct describes it as a fast, frantic third-person shooter for playing with friends across a hostile galaxy. That is the product listing’s description, not an independent review.

PlayStation Direct’s US store lists a PS5 disc game and says: “Join the Helldivers and fight for freedom with friends across a hostile galaxy in this fast, frantic third-person shooter.” Check the retailer listing for current regional availability and edition details before buying.
It also registered in a national sales snapshot: SELL’s 2024 report records 137,882 units for Helldivers 2 in its PS5 console ranking for France. This is a France-market report figure, not global sales or a lifetime total.
