Place Revelations after Resident Evil 4 if you want to follow the chronology more closely before moving to Resident Evil 5. Capcom dates it to 2005, between the fourth and fifth numbered entries. Treat it as an optional side path rather than a prerequisite implied by the timeline.
For a jump to a much later point: Resident Evil 7 biohazard
Resident Evil 7 biohazard is set in July 2017 in Capcom’s chronology. Choose it if your priority is reaching a later-era entry, not if you are trying to take the next chronological step after Code: Veronica. Its later placement alone does not show how closely its characters or mechanics connect to Code: Veronica.

Chronology gives a reliable answer to “What should I play after Code: Veronica?” when the main criterion is when the story takes place. On that basis, Resident Evil 4 is the recommendation, with Revelations as an optional 2005 entry before Resident Evil 5. The dates then place Resident Evil 6 and Resident Evil 7 biohazard later.
