Why SADAME is the closest fit
Nintendo describes SADAME as an action-packed role-playing game, with hordes of monsters and large bosses. Its leveling, equipment upgrades using elemental gems, and skill tree give it the clearest character-progression match among these candidates. Nintendo gives its release date as 25 February 2016.
Replay challenge is another point in its favor: Nintendo Life’s review says completing the game with any character unlocks successively harder difficulty levels. That supports recommending it to players who want to revisit an action game with a steeper challenge, though it does not make the game a confirmed Souls-like.

Why Mirror of Fate is the action-platformer alternative
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate is a better fit if what you want most is deliberate-feeling melee action, combat encounters, and bosses rather than RPG progression. Nintendo describes strategic combat, combos, traps, and boss battles, alongside 2D platforming presented with 3D graphics. Nintendo announced it as a European Nintendo 3DS/3DS XL exclusive scheduled for 8 March 2013.
Its appeal is therefore closer to action-adventure and side-scrolling platforming than to a Souls-like RPG. Nintendo’s product page identifies the release as a Nintendo 3DS Game Card.
What “Souls-like” does—and does not—mean here
Nintendo labels SADAME an action RPG and presents Mirror of Fate as a 2D platforming action-adventure. Neither source calls its game a Souls-like, and the available material does not document a full set of genre-defining mechanics. Bandai Namco describes Dark Souls as an action role-playing game and its difficulty as punishing, but that alone is not a complete definition of the broader Souls-like label. These recommendations match selected ingredients, not a verified genre classification.

Nintendo says purchases for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U eShops ended on 27 March 2023. Nintendo Support also says the 3DS eShop can no longer be browsed for games or other digital content. So SADAME, which Nintendo lists as download software, should not be treated as a new digital eShop purchase.
