Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice — best for deflection-centered sword fights

Calling it a Soulslike is a useful editorial classification, but the official product description calls it an action adventure.

- You want close-range, high-pressure sword exchanges.
- You enjoy learning an opponent’s timing and responding with a specific defense.
- You prefer a defined protagonist and signature toolset over loot-driven experimentation.

Skip it when

Every weapon family changes the shape of an attack string, and stance selection changes reach, speed and risk. Ki is the resource that makes this pressure meaningful: spend it on attacks, then use timing and positioning to recover it rather than blindly mashing until you are exhausted. Lies of P — best for precision dodges, parries and aggressive bosses
Lies of P targets players who want a fast-paced precision game without reducing combat to one defensive answer. PlayStation’s guide emphasizes dodging, parrying and attacking aggressive enemies, as well as multi-phase bosses that demand adaptation.

Bloodborne — an optional aggressive-combat reference point
Bloodborne belongs on a shortlist when “fast” means refusing to turtle behind a shield.
