There is no single best preset for every PC: start with the resolution and frame-rate target your hardware can handle, then choose a compatible upscaler and tune graphics settings against a repeatable scene. Ubisoft’s published PC tiers range from 1080p at 30 FPS on Low to 4K at 60 FPS on Ultra, each with quality upscaling; those are reference targets, not guarantees for every system.
Start with a resolution and frame-rate target
Ubisoft’s August 2024 PC specifications set out four reference tiers. Each includes quality upscaling, 16 GB of dual-channel memory and a 65 GB SSD requirement. Use the closest tier as a starting point rather than assuming its label guarantees that performance on your PC. Ubisoft’s PC features and system requirements also list example processors and graphics cards for each target.
| Ubisoft tier | Resolution and target | Graphics preset | Upscaling |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | 1080p / 30 FPS | Low | Quality |
| Recommended | 1080p / 60 FPS | High | Quality |
| Enthusiast | 1440p / 60 FPS | High | Quality |
| Ultra | 4K / 60 FPS | Ultra | Quality |
If you are below your target, reduce demanding quality options or try a more performance-oriented upscaler mode before deciding that new hardware is necessary. If you are already meeting the target, raise settings gradually and check whether the visual improvement is worth any lost performance.
A published RTX 4070 profile to compare against
PCGamesN’s guide, updated August 15, 2025, provides one practical reference profile, not a universal optimization. Its test system used an Intel Core i7-11700F, RTX 4070 with 12 GB of memory and 32 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM. The listed profile averaged 91.7 FPS at 2560×1440 in that publisher’s test. A second run using medium ray-tracing presets averaged 67.4 FPS. Those results describe the guide’s test rig and configurations; they do not establish typical performance or isolate the effect of one setting. See PCGamesN’s settings guide and test details.

Menu options can vary with your graphics card and installed game build. Treat this as a comparison point: copy it only if your system is reasonably comparable, then adjust for your own frame-rate goal and visual preferences.
Choose an upscaler your GPU supports
Ubisoft lists NVIDIA DLSS 3.5, Intel XeSS 1.3 and AMD FSR 3.0 for the PC version, including upscaling and frame-generation support for XeSS and FSR. The available choices depend on your GPU and installed build, so use the options actually shown in the game. The upscalers have different hardware requirements and do not promise identical image quality.

- NVIDIA Ampere Streaming Multiprocessors: The all-new Ampere SM brings 2X the FP32 throughput and improved power efficiency.
- 2nd Generation RT Cores: Experience 2X the throughput of 1st gen RT Cores, plus concurrent RT and shading for a whole new level of ray-tracing performance.
- 3rd Generation Tensor Cores: Get up to 2X the throughput with structural sparsity and advanced AI algorithms such as DLSS. These cores deliver a massive boost in game performance and all-new AI capabilities.
- Axial-tech fan design features a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure.
- OC Mode : 1500 MHz (Boost Clock)/Default Mode : 1470 MHz (Boost Clock)
- Start with Quality mode if your system meets its performance target. Ubisoft uses quality upscaling in its published hardware tiers.
- Try a faster mode only if you need more performance. Compare fine detail and image stability as well as frame rate, and keep the mode that works best for your display and preference.
- On supported NVIDIA cards, check the newer DLSS options. Ubisoft’s February 2025 Title Update 1.5.1 notes add DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation for RTX 50-series GPUs and describe a faster single Frame Generation model with reduced memory use on RTX 50- and 40-series cards. The notes also describe new transformer models for Ray Reconstruction, Super Resolution and DLAA across GeForce RTX GPUs. Read Ubisoft’s Title Update 1.5.1 notes.
Separate rendered performance from generated frames
Frame Generation can increase the number of frames displayed on supported hardware, but a higher displayed frame rate is not the same as a stronger rendering baseline. First find settings that deliver stable performance without relying on generated frames; then enable Frame Generation and assess responsiveness, image artifacts and consistency in your own play. Neither the official feature notes nor the cited guide establishes the same result for every PC.
Ray Reconstruction and RTX Dynamic Illumination (RTXDI) are part of the game’s ray-tracing feature set. Ubisoft announced ray-traced global illumination, reflections and shadows, RTXDI, and DLSS 3.5 features including Ray Reconstruction, Frame Generation and Super Resolution. Later patch notes mention RTXDI and Ray Reconstruction improvements, but the cited sources do not quantify how much any individual setting costs on a particular system. Ubisoft’s Steam announcement archive lists Title Update 1.6 on May 15, 2025, including those improvements, and a Hotfix 5.3 dated April 3, 2025, addressing performance and stability for NVIDIA GPUs. The archive does not establish the live PC build on October 7, 2026.

Tune settings with a repeatable comparison
PCGamesN reports that the game has no in-game benchmark tool, so use the same scene or route to judge changes. Keep resolution and other settings constant, change a small group of options at a time, and watch for visual artifacts as well as frame-rate changes. NVIDIA and AMD overlays or third-party capture software such as CapFrameX can help monitor results; they are optional.
- Set the display resolution and target. Choose the resolution and frame rate you actually want, then use Ubisoft’s tiers as a rough reference for preset level.
- Select an available upscaler. Begin with Quality mode if performance allows. Move to a faster mode only when needed, and compare the resulting image.
- Establish a stable baseline. Test a repeatable location with Frame Generation off, so you can judge the game’s rendered performance on its own.
- Adjust a few settings at a time. If you need more performance, reduce graphics quality or ray-tracing options; if you have headroom, raise settings selectively. The cited sources do not provide a reliable per-setting performance cost, so verify the impact on your PC rather than assuming one option is always the culprit.
- Evaluate Frame Generation separately. Once the baseline is stable, enable it if supported and check whether the smoother displayed motion comes with acceptable responsiveness and image stability.
- Repeat the same route. Keep conditions as consistent as possible after each change so differences are easier to attribute to the settings you adjusted.
Check storage and hardware before upgrading
Ubisoft lists a 65 GB SSD requirement and 16 GB of dual-channel memory in every published PC tier. PCGamesN warns that installing on an HDD may cause unstable performance and longer loading times. Check that the game has adequate SSD space if you do not already meet the storage requirement; the cited information does not specify a required SSD form factor or support promising a frame-rate boost from replacing an already suitable drive.
If you cannot meet your chosen resolution and quality target after tuning, compare your processor and GPU with Ubisoft’s tier specifications before considering an upgrade. The tiers are guidance, not a guarantee that a named component will deliver the target in every scene. Ubisoft’s 2024 PC announcement also listed uncapped frame rates, 21:9 Cinematic Display Mode, and multi-monitor and ultrawide support; the actual choices available depend on your setup and game build.
