Start with the game mode, not the highest-ranked fighter. TapForce’s community tier lists separate recommendations for Mech, Club Smash, PvP, Hard Mode, Sewers, and Campaign. Use the list for the mode you want to play, then choose fighters you own, can promote, and can fit into a balanced six-fighter lineup.
Why the mode matters more than an overall tier
Different TapForce activities place different demands on a team, so a fighter’s placement in one mode does not establish that the fighter is the best choice everywhere. Combat Codex / TapForce Companion publishes separate rankings for six modes. Its rankings are community guidance, not official developer ratings: the site describes itself as an “Unofficial fan site. Not affiliated with Tap Force or its developers.” Combat Codex / TapForce Companion identifies its fighter entries with stats, skills, tier ratings, and synergies.
Use the ranking to narrow your options, not to copy a lineup without checking what the fighters do or whether you can build them. The lists and game content can change; the examples below reflect the page’s content as retrieved on October 7, 2026.
How to turn a tier list into a team
- Choose the mode. Open the tier list for the content you plan to play—Campaign, PvP, Sewers, Mech, Club Smash, or Hard Mode—before comparing fighters.
- Cover the jobs your lineup needs. The community beginner guide recommends a typical mix of one or two damage dealers, one or two supports, and a tank or brawler. Treat that as a starting point, not a fixed formula; adjust for your roster and the mode. Beginner’s guide
- Compare skills and synergy. Check each candidate’s role, skills, faction, and synergies alongside the tier placement. A high-ranked fighter is not automatically a fit if the rest of your lineup cannot make use of that fighter’s strengths.

- Mode: Which fighter is ranked more strongly for the activity you intend to play?
- Role: Does your lineup need damage, support, or frontline durability more?
- Skills and synergy: Do the fighter’s abilities and synergies work with your other five fighters?
- Buildability: Do you own the copies and promotion resources needed to make the fighter effective?
- Progression stage: Is the recommendation aimed at your current content, or at a later specialized target such as a mech team?
