What archetypes are available?
Each archetype is presented as a starting package with two weapons and initial Trade Skill boosts. Match the pair you want to start with to its name:

How should you choose?
Use the weapon pairing as your deciding factor: pick the name attached to the weapons you are most interested in trying first. If none stands out, treat the selection as an initial direction rather than a verdict about how your character must play. Amazon describes the game’s character development as classless, with customizable skills and abilities.

The available official descriptions do not establish exact archetype respec rules, or show that a particular choice levels faster, has a superior Trade Skill advantage, or performs better at endgame. Weapon names alone are not enough to support those comparisons, and no reliable current comparative test or tier ranking is established by the cited material.

Availability changes the practical answer for anyone deciding whether to begin. In an Amazon Games update dated January 15, 2026, the company said New World: Aeternum was delisted that day and that previously purchased players could continue playing until the servers are permanently taken offline on January 31, 2027. Amazon also said purchases of Marks of Fortune and other in-game items stopped on July 20, 2026. Delisting means the game is no longer available for new purchase through the channels covered by that update; it does not mean existing owners lose access immediately.
Amazon’s November 4, 2025 Daggers release notes describe that weapon as unfinished at release and outline combo points, six abilities, and Blades and Stealth mastery trees. Those notes document a later weapon addition, but do not connect Daggers to the seven starting archetypes or identify a best archetype.
