There is no verified Steam Deck settings preset for End of Abyss yet. One OLED Deck player reported getting close to 45 FPS after experimenting, but said performance still dropped sharply in some rooms—and did not publish the exact settings used. Treat 45 FPS as an individual target, not a proven lock. Read the launch-week player discussion.
What is known about End of Abyss on Steam Deck?
The game launched on October 1, 2026. Epic Games Store lists its PC version for Windows and requires an Epic ID; its listing does not establish SteamOS support or provide a Steam Deck compatibility rating. Its Windows system requirements cannot by themselves predict whether the game will run well on Deck. Epic Games Store’s End of Abyss listing provides the platform and requirements. An independent platform guide also reports that no Steam release or official Deck support has been announced, but that is secondary-source reporting, not a developer statement: End of Abyss PC platform guide.

One anonymous OLED Deck player described being “nearly locked to 45” after more than an hour of experimentation, while noting that some rooms caused substantial frame drops. They did not identify a repeatable graphics configuration. That is useful as an early indication that performance may vary by room, but it is not a controlled benchmark or a result that can be assumed on other Decks.

The following is a trial procedure, not a tested End of Abyss preset. A commenter in the Deck discussion described starting low and raising options one at a time as their usual approach to Unreal Engine 5 games, while explicitly saying they had not played this title.
#1 Best Overall
- 1TB NVMe SSD
- 1280 x 800 HDR OLED display with premium anti-glare etched glass, 7.4" Diagonal display size up to 90Hz refresh rate
- Wi-Fi 6E
- 50Whr battery; 3-12 hours of gameplay (content-dependent)
- Carrying case with removable liner
- Start with the game’s Low preset. This gives you a baseline; it is not established that Low eliminates stutter or delivers a particular frame rate.
- Choose a frame-rate target in SteamOS. You can try 45 FPS as a target because one OLED player reported getting close to it, but do not treat that as a known stable cap. If dips remain disruptive, test a lower target rather than assuming 45 will hold.
- Play through more than a quiet area. Check a demanding room or encounter as well as ordinary traversal. The early report specifically described room-to-room variation, including drops that did not seem tied to visible activity.
- Raise graphics options one at a time. After checking a demanding section, increase an option only if image quality improves enough to justify any loss in consistency. Revisit the same kind of area after each change so the comparison is meaningful.
- Keep the setup that feels consistent across areas. Judge frame-time consistency and image quality together; a number reached in one room is not evidence of a stable experience throughout the game.
The available player report does not name resolution, upscaling, shadows, effects, TDP, or a specific in-game frame cap. There is therefore no sourced basis for prescribing exact values for those settings.

These specifications do not certify compatibility with SteamOS, identify a Proton version, or translate into a Deck frame rate. The 5.29 GB installation figure also does not establish that extra storage hardware is needed for this game.

Quick Recap
Rank #4
- Valve is entering the gaming console marketplace with the new Steam Deck, a console geared towards PC gamers. The Steam Deck can be docked to a monitor, and used as a PC, or docked to a TV.
- Players can play a huge variety of games at any time with the comfort of a console and the freedom of a PC. Not anti-glare screen.
- Like the name suggests, the Steam Deck will include upgraded 1TB storage, and will include a carrying case. A micro SD slot will also enable expanded storage.
- Valve partnered with AMD to create a specialized APU optimized for handheld gaming, and Valve says the chip will deliver performance to run AAA gaming titles.
- The Steam Deck is outfitted with a 7-inch touchscreen, and two trackpads under the control sticks that allow gamers to operate games never designed outside of mouse and keyboard capabilities.

- Operating System: SteamOS 3.0
What remains unverified
- A repeatable set of in-game graphics values and a frame cap for Steam Deck.
- Whether OLED and LCD models perform differently in this game.
- Whether the Epic version runs reliably through Heroic or another Epic-compatible route.
- Whether later patches or broader testing change the launch-week observations.
