For streaming Bloodborne from a PS5 to a Steam Deck, use Chiaki-NG and start with its installed-version defaults rather than chasing a supposedly universal resolution, bitrate, decoder, or frame-rate preset. The most useful settings are usually network-related: enable PS5 Remote Play, keep the connection stable, and troubleshoot the symptom you actually see. Chiaki-NG is an independent client, not a Sony app or a Sony-endorsed product.
What settings should you use?
There is no verified universal Chiaki-NG preset for this setup. Sony’s Remote Play guidance gives connection recommendations, but it does not prescribe Steam Deck video or decoder settings; the consulted Chiaki-NG project overview likewise does not establish a current one-size-fits-all tuning profile. Start with the client defaults. If the stream stutters, disconnects, or looks poor, check network stability first, then adjust a relevant option only if it is available in your installed version.

These are settings to prioritize:
- PS5: Enable Remote Play in Settings > System > Remote Play.
- Steam Deck client: Install and configure Chiaki-NG using its project documentation. Its maintainers describe it as an independent open-source Remote Play client; it is not endorsed or certified by Sony.
- Home network: Prefer a strong 5 GHz Wi-Fi connection for the Deck. If practical, connect the PS5 to the router over Ethernet.
These network choices can help address connection problems, but they do not guarantee a particular image quality, frame rate, or latency.

Set up PS5 Remote Play and pair the Deck
- On the PS5, open Settings > System > Remote Play and turn on Enable Remote Play. Sony says this is required the first time you set up Remote Play.
- Keep the PS5 online and updated, and sign in to the relevant PlayStation account. Sony includes an updated console and same-account sign-in in its setup checks.
- Install and configure Chiaki-NG on the Steam Deck using the current project documentation. This is an independent client rather than a native Sony Steam Deck app.
- Try automatic console discovery. If it does not find the PS5, connect the PS5 and Deck to the same network, choose Pair Device on the PS5, and enter the displayed code in the client.
- Connect to the PS5 and try launching Bloodborne. If the session fails or performs poorly, use the troubleshooting steps below rather than changing several client options at once.
Sony’s official Remote Play device information does not list Steam Deck as a supported device for a native official app. Chiaki-NG provides an independent route, with the corresponding support and compatibility caveats.

Check the network before changing video options
Sony Interactive Entertainment’s current Remote Play support guidance, accessed October 9, 2026, gives 5 Mbps upload and download as the minimum connection speed and recommends at least 15 Mbps upload and download for best performance. The recommendation is not a guarantee of smooth play: connection stability and competing network activity can still affect the session.
- Put the Steam Deck on a strong 5 GHz Wi-Fi connection, as Sony recommends for troubleshooting a wireless device.
- If possible, wire the PS5 to the router. An optional Cat 6 Ethernet cable can make that connection when the router has an Ethernet port; it does not guarantee lower latency.
- Pause downloads and reduce other network use while testing.
- If you are playing away from home, assess the connection at both ends; the internet path, not only the Deck’s local Wi-Fi, can be a limiting factor.
Troubleshoot stutter, disconnections, or poor image quality
If the stream stutters or the picture degrades
- Check that the Deck has a strong 5 GHz Wi-Fi signal and that network use is not congested.
- Pause downloads and other heavy network activity, then test again.
- If the PS5 is on Wi-Fi, try a wired connection to the router where possible.
- Only after these checks, adjust a relevant stream option that exists in your installed Chiaki-NG version. Change one setting at a time so you can tell whether it helped.
If the PS5 cannot be found or the session will not connect
- Confirm Remote Play is enabled and the console is online, updated, and signed into the relevant account.
- For initial pairing or failed discovery, put both devices on the same network and use Pair Device on the PS5 to obtain a code for the client.
- Check whether the network uses NAT Type 3, which Sony says may prevent Remote Play.
- If simpler checks fail, Sony identifies UDP port 8572 in its connection troubleshooting guidance. Consult the router’s documentation or network administrator before changing firewall or port settings.

Will Bloodborne work through Remote Play?
Sony’s general Remote Play guidance does not specifically confirm Bloodborne compatibility across all accounts, regions, and configurations. Sony also notes that some games do not support Remote Play and that some images may not display during a session. The practical approach is to try the connection on your setup rather than assume universal compatibility.
