Choose ammunition for the way you fight

The weapon’s two ammunition types are intended for different roles. In the MWIII Season 2 patch notes, published March 21, 2024, Sledgehammer Games and Treyarch described 7.62 as slower but accurate at long range, while 5.56 is aimed at aggressive, run-and-gun play. That design distinction is a useful starting point, not proof that one option is best in every current match.

• 7.62: Choose it when controlled long-range accuracy is the priority. The listed Multiplayer baseline above uses the 50 Round 762 Belt.
• 5.56: Consider it when you want a more aggressive feel and faster handling. The official notes list a rate-of-fire benefit of 857 rpm for 5.56 belt magazines, alongside reductions to maximum damage from 34 to 30 and medium damage from 30 to 24. These are patch-note values, not a guarantee of current behavior after later balancing.

Those same Season 2 notes increased base movement speed from 4.4 m/s to 5.1 m/s, reduced base rate of fire from 706 rpm to 500 rpm, and raised maximum damage from 34 to 40 and maximum damage range from 35.6 m to 40.6 m. The February 16, 2024 update then reduced 5.56 maximum damage from 34 to 30 and increased vertical recoil control by 40%. Later, the Season 3 patch notes increased TAQ Evolvere ADS time from 385 ms to 415 ms and sprint-to-fire time from 245 ms to 257 ms. These dated changes explain why older attachment guides should not be treated as timeless prescriptions.

Warzone long-range setup: a separate recommendation

CODMunity’s Long Range configuration is identified as Warzone-oriented, not as an MWIII Multiplayer build. It lists JAK Glassless Optic, Casus Brake, LRF Righteous Long, Rampart Heavy Stock, and 7.62x51MM High Grain. See the TAQ Evolvere loadouts page for that mode-specific list. Older Multiplayer build for historical reference

A January 2024 Prima Games TAQ Evolvere guide recommended a different Multiplayer setup: Eviction 762 Heavy Barrel, JAK BFB, SZ Holotherm, JUP_JP20_LM_EVICTOR_PGRIP_AIM, and B052 Grip. The guide noted that the JAK BFB traded recoil control for increased radar detection and said the optic could be replaced. This is a dated reference, not a current meta claim.

Unlock and platform notes

Prima Games reported in January 2024 that the TAQ Evolvere was unlocked by completing five Season 1 Week 7 challenges, with a later challenge available to players who missed the seasonal reward. Because that information is old and unlock paths may change, check the current in-game weapon unlock requirements before planning around it.
