8BitDo 64 Bluetooth Controller: best for most Switch players
8BitDo’s product page describes the 64 as “Designed to play N64 games perfectly” and lists Nintendo Switch 1 and Switch 2 compatibility: 8BitDo 64 Bluetooth Controller. Nintendo Life and TechRadar have also reviewed it as an option for playing N64 games on Switch, including through Nintendo Switch Online. Nintendo Life lists its weight as 226 g. What to expect from its layout
The controller updates the feel and grip of an N64 pad but keeps the single-stick layout associated with that console. That makes it a specialist for N64-era games, rather than a practical all-purpose replacement for a standard Switch controller. If you mainly want to play the Switch Online N64 library, the layout fits the job; for games designed around modern dual-stick controls, choose a general-purpose gamepad instead.
Retro Fighters Brawler64 Bluetooth NSO Edition: a Switch Online-focused alternative
Retro Fighters identifies the Brawler64 Bluetooth NSO Edition as a wireless controller for N64 and Switch Online use on its Switch controller category page and company site. That makes it a natural alternative for players who want a wireless N64-style pad explicitly aimed at Nintendo Switch Online.
