There is no verified “best VPN location” for getting bot lobbies in Warzone. The Activision sources available here do not identify a country or VPN route that reliably produces easier opponents. Activision’s January 2024 matchmaking explanation focuses on Multiplayer and says it would discuss Warzone matchmaking separately. Treat location lists and easy-lobby promises as unverified marketing, not a confirmed game mechanic.
Does a VPN location give you bot lobbies in Warzone?
No official source cited here establishes that choosing a particular VPN location makes Warzone opponents less skilled. Activision’s January 2024 matchmaking post explains matchmaking for Multiplayer and explicitly defers a Warzone-specific discussion. It therefore cannot confirm a Warzone formula or show that a VPN destination changes the skill level of your opponents.
VPN providers may advertise “easiest lobbies” or promote particular regions, but those are vendor claims rather than validation from Activision. No authoritative published comparison in the cited material ranks Warzone VPN locations by lobby difficulty or shows that any region produces bot lobbies. A list of supposedly reliable countries would overstate what is known.
What location and ping can affect
Location is relevant to connection quality, not proof of opponent skill. Activision’s Warzone connection guidance says ping depends mainly on ISP quality and geographic distance from servers. Its matchmaking overview also discusses “Delta Ping,” the difference between a player’s best data center and the one hosting a lobby. That explanation is Multiplayer-focused, so it should not be treated as evidence of Warzone’s specific region-selection behavior.

- Blazing-fast WiFi 7 boosts tri-band throughput up to 12000 Mbps with 320 MHz channels of 6 GHz band, Multi-Link Operation (MLO) and 4K-QAM
- Powerful wired network capacity of up to 20G with one 2.5G WAN port and seven 2.5G LAN ports.
- High-performance quad-core 2.0GHz CPU with robust cooling, 2GB RAM and eight internal antennas providing up to 3000 sq. ft. of range.
- Smart Home Master makes it easy to set up functional subnetwork (up to 3 SSIDs) for IoT devices and VPNs
- ROG-exclusive Gaming Network streamlines Triple-Level Game Acceleration setup and connections through convenient SSIDs
Activision’s technical paper on ping explains that higher network latency increases the delay between an action and its effect, and can contribute to visible problems such as warping or shots that appear to miss. A VPN adds a route between you and the game service; sending traffic farther away can worsen latency or stability. Whether a VPN improves or degrades your route depends on your actual connection and the path it takes, not on a country’s reputation for easy lobbies.
How to test a VPN route without mistaking it for a lobby guarantee
If you choose to experiment, assess the connection from your own location and platform. A lower ping or steadier connection is a measurable result; “easier opponents” is not established by the official material cited here.

- Beyond-fast WiFi 7 (802.11be) with new 320MHz channels in the 6 GHz band and 4096-QAM significantly increases network capacity and throughput, with speeds of up to 30 Gbps
- Multi-link Operation links to multiple bands at the same time to ensure stable internet connections and efficient data transfers
- Cutting-edge external dual-feeding antennas boost coverage by providing high efficiency and significantly enhanced signal strength
- Maximized wired connectivity and flexibility with dual 10G ports and quad 2.5G ports
- Triple-Level Game Acceleration - The GT-BE98 Pro boosts your PC gaming traffic every step of the way, from your PC gaming port all the way to the game server.
- Record your baseline. Play without the VPN and note the in-game ping and whether the connection is stable. Use the same platform and, as far as practical, comparable times and conditions for any later test.
- Test one route at a time. Connect to one VPN endpoint, then check ping and stability in game. Do not assume that the endpoint’s country is the same thing as the game server hosting a match.
- Compare connection quality, not a short run of opponents. A few matches cannot establish that a route reliably changes lobby skill. If ping rises, becomes erratic, or gameplay shows more delay, that route is a poor connection choice regardless of opponents.
- Stop if the route makes play worse. Disconnect the VPN and return to your baseline route if the connection degrades. There is no verified location to switch to as a fallback for bot lobbies.
Fix connection problems separately from lobby difficulty
For unreliable Wi-Fi, Activision recommends a wired Ethernet connection as a way to help maintain the bandwidth needed for online gaming. Its support guidance also discusses router QoS. These steps address connection quality; neither selects a matchmaking region nor makes opponents less skilled.
Can using a VPN get you banned?
Activision’s Security and Enforcement Policy describes sanctions for unauthorized software or tools used to gain an unfair advantage or manipulate stats or game data. The policy cited here does not specifically say that ordinary VPN use is prohibited, nor does it say that using one automatically causes a ban. That is not a guarantee about every possible use: avoid tools or conduct that manipulate the game or provide an unfair advantage, and consult Activision’s current policy for your circumstances.

Do not confuse VPN routing with a separate security condition. A June 4, 2026 RICOCHET update says PCs that fail Microsoft Azure Attestation requirements can be placed in a separate matchmaking pool. That concerns security compliance, not evidence that VPN users are assigned bot lobbies.

One provider’s Call of Duty VPN page promotes easier lobbies and region-routing features. That is an example of vendor marketing, not independent proof that the feature reliably changes Warzone matchmaking or opponent skill.
