1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsLeon and Grace need different upgrade plans. Leon can buy weapons and customizable parts with Credits at Supply Boxes; Grace’s firearms have fixed stats, so her priorities are found weapons, Antique Coin upgrades, and keeping enough supplies to survive. For a practical first-playthrough plan, prioritize Leon’s Silencer 9 and 990-TAC, while saving the Requiem revolver’s scarce ammunition for high-threat encounters. For Grace, look for the S&S M232 and consider the three-coin Hip Pouch early.
How weapon upgrades work for each protagonist
Resident Evil Requiem has two distinct weapon systems. Leon earns Credits and spends them at Supply Boxes on weapons and upgrades, including customizable parts. Grace does not use Leon’s attachment system: her firearms have fixed stats, and her route centers on weapons she finds and upgrades purchased with Antique Coins. PlayStation’s official description emphasizes Grace’s limited supplies, crafting, and the different gameplay styles of the two protagonists: Resident Evil Requiem – PS5 Games.

The recommendations below reflect a player guide updated September 14, 2026, not an official Capcom ranking or independently verified damage test. Costs and availability can change; check the names, prices, and unlock conditions at the relevant in-game shop in your version.
What Leon should buy first
The guide’s practical first-playthrough order is to improve Leon’s reliable everyday options before spending heavily across several weapons. Its progression begins when Leon obtains the Tactical Tracker, after which Credits earned from kills can be spent at Supply Boxes.
#1 Best Overall
- Amazon Exclusive - 2 sided poster included in every game!
- Grace Ashcroft, an FBI intelligence analyst who is introverted and easily scared, representing a new type of character for the Resident Evil series. Grace will experience horror from the same perspective as the player as she learns to overcome her fears throughout the course of the story.
- For the first time ever in Resident Evil history, players will be able to freely switch between both first- and third-person perspectives throughout the game.
- An Anniversary to Remember: With March 2026 marking the Resident Evil series’ 30-year anniversary, Resident Evil Requiem marks its own milestone in the franchise.
- Pre-orders for Resident Evil Requiem are now open, with the bonus of Grace’s costume: Apocalypse. Please note that the picture weapon does not come with the costume, but it can be obtained in-game.
- Buy the Silencer 9 (listed cost: 5,500 Credits). The guide recommends it ahead of Leon’s starting Alligator Snapper, with the Add-on Suppressor and High-Capacity Mag as its suggested parts.
- Buy the 990-TAC shotgun (listed cost: 7,000 Credits). The guide recommends the Ceramic Coated Barrel for damage and the Carbon Tube Extension for ammunition capacity. It describes the shotgun as useful at close to medium range.
- Consider later automatic weapons when they fit your needs. The guide presents the Sitri REVO3 A1 as an early crowd-control option and the later Clatter Carbine as a stronger submachine-gun choice. They are progression options, not reasons to delay the handgun and shotgun priorities.
The listed prices are guide figures, not guaranteed prices for every version or point in a playthrough. The guide also notes that upgrade costs rise by tier, so committing Credits to a useful weapon before spreading them across several partly upgraded guns is a sensible default. Your preferred combat style and available Credits can change that order.
When to use the Requiem revolver
Leon receives the Requiem revolver at the start of the East Raccoon City chapter, according to the guide. It hits hard, but its 12.7x55mm ammunition is described as rare and its recentering as slow. Treat it as a reserve for bosses and dangerous enemies rather than a routine weapon for every encounter. Use it when the threat justifies spending a scarce round, not simply because it is your most powerful gun.

Grace’s weapons and Antique Coin priorities
Grace cannot buy Leon-style attachments. Her guns have fixed stats, so prioritize what she can actually obtain: weapons found along her route and upgrades bought with Antique Coins. PlayStation describes Grace as limited by the supplies she can obtain and carry, and notes that she can use infected enemy blood to craft items, ammunition, and injectors. That makes inventory capacity and resource management more relevant to her than attachment comparisons.
Look for the S&S M232
The September 2026 guide identifies the S&S M232 as a pickup in the Care Center Bar and Lounge and describes its listed stats as better across the board than those of Grace’s starting B934. It is a found weapon, not a Credit purchase or an attachment upgrade.

Consider the Hip Pouch early
The guide lists a Hip Pouch for three Antique Coins at the Care Center and recommends it as an early quality-of-life purchase because inventory space is tight. It also lists Steroids for four coins, a Stabilizer for four, and an Override Manual for six. Those figures and upgrade names are guide-reported; weigh the pouch against the benefits you need most in your run.
Save the Kotetsu for a replay
The guide describes the Kotetsu as an unbreakable blade available through the special-content shop after completing the game once. That makes it a New Game+ consideration rather than a first-run purchase priority.
