SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds are the strongest current review-backed pick, but platform variants, Bluetooth compatibility and connection latency can change which earbuds make sense for your setup.

If you want one current, review-backed place to start, choose the SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds: RTINGS names them its top gaming-earbud pick, with a low-latency USB-C dongle, ANC and app-based EQ. The right choice still depends on your platform and whether you need Xbox support. For latency-sensitive play, prefer a dedicated 2.4 GHz dongle over ordinary Bluetooth; Bluetooth can put game audio out of sync with the picture. This guide updates the requested 2025 roundup using current evidence available on October 8, 2026, rather than presenting an unverified eight-product ranking.

How to choose wireless earbuds for gaming

For fast-paced games, connection type is a practical first filter. RTINGS warns that ordinary Bluetooth can introduce noticeable audio delay, enough to desynchronize sound and video. A dedicated 2.4 GHz USB dongle is the safer option when timing matters. Razer likewise describes its HyperSpeed 2.4 GHz mode as intended for low-latency gaming, while positioning Bluetooth for casual play and general listening. No comparable latency measurements were established for every candidate here, so a precise millisecond ranking would be misleading.

Then check platform and model variant, followed by fit, microphone performance, battery, noise control and app features. A feature list is not a substitute for a good fit or clear voice chat, and specifications from a manufacturer should not be confused with independent test results.

Best wireless gaming earbuds currently supported by the evidence

Model Best suited to Connection and compatibility Battery, sound and other trade-offs
SteelSeries Arctis GameBuds Best overall starting point RTINGS reports a low-latency USB-C dongle for PC, PlayStation and Xbox, plus simultaneous dongle and Bluetooth connections. Xbox users need the Xbox variant. RTINGS measured 8.25 hours of continuous playback with ANC enabled on its tested unit. It also cites ANC, EQ/app support and a balanced default sound. Microphone noise handling is a limitation in loud environments. RTINGS roundup
ASUS ROG Cetra True Wireless SpeedNova Feature-rich alternative ASUS lists Bluetooth and ROG SpeedNova 2.4 GHz. Its 24-bit/96 kHz playback specification applies in 2.4 GHz mode. ASUS claims up to 46 hours of battery life; this is a manufacturer figure, not an independent runtime test. RTINGS describes a bass-forward, excited sound profile, strong isolation relative to some rivals, and trade-offs in tuning and comfort. ASUS product page · RTINGS roundup
Sony INZONE Buds PC and PlayStation users considering a dongle-first setup RTINGS identifies the USB-C dongle as the low-latency connection. Bluetooth uses LE Audio/LC3, which has limited compatibility; check that your device supports it. RTINGS’ current roundup does not list an Xbox-compatible variant. Battery and other comparable figures are not stated in the cited roundup. RTINGS roundup
PlayStation PULSE Explore PlayStation-focused setups PlayStation presents the earbuds as a gaming product for its ecosystem; the cited product page does not establish a universal cross-platform ranking. The official page lists hidden microphones, AI-enhanced noise rejection and a charging case. PlayStation product page
Razer Hammerhead HyperSpeed People comparing gaming and everyday listening modes Razer’s Xbox-market product page lists Xbox, PlayStation, PC, Mac, mobile and handheld support using Bluetooth or USB. Check the exact model and connection mode for your platform; Razer positions 2.4 GHz HyperSpeed for low-latency gaming. Razer recommends Bluetooth for casual play and general listening. The cited page does not establish comparable independent battery, fit or microphone results. Verify current availability before buying. Razer product page

Which option fits your platform?

PC

Start with the Arctis GameBuds if you want a reviewed overall pick with a dongle, ANC and EQ support. The ASUS ROG Cetra SpeedNova is a feature-rich alternative if its tuning and comfort suit you. Sony INZONE Buds are worth considering if you intend to use their USB-C dongle; do not assume their LC3 Bluetooth mode will work with every computer or phone.

PlayStation

The Arctis GameBuds and Sony INZONE Buds are candidates with dongle-based low-latency connections in RTINGS’ coverage. PULSE Explore is the PlayStation-specific option among these picks, but its official page does not establish it as the best cross-platform earbud.

Xbox

Check the exact Arctis GameBuds variant: SteelSeries has separate Xbox and PlayStation versions, and the Xbox variant is required for Xbox support. Razer’s cited Hammerhead HyperSpeed page is for its Xbox-market model. Confirm the precise product listing and connection mode for your console before ordering.

Phone, handheld or mixed everyday use

Bluetooth is convenient for music, calls and casual play, but it is not the safest choice for timing-sensitive gaming. The Sony INZONE Buds’ LC3 Bluetooth support is a notable compatibility constraint: confirm LE Audio/LC3 support on the specific device instead of assuming ordinary Bluetooth compatibility. A dongle may provide the more dependable gaming route where the device supports it.

What the 2025 title can—and cannot—promise

The requested 2025 framing is now historical: this guide reflects evidence available on October 8, 2026. RTINGS’ current roundup names five category picks, including wired products, and additional notable mentions; it does not verify an eight-item wireless ranking. The products above are therefore a curated set of wireless options supported by the cited material, not a claim that eight models were tested or that these are a definitive ranked top eight. Check current price, stock, firmware and exact variant at the seller before purchasing.

RTINGS’ reported 8.25-hour GameBuds runtime is its test result with ANC enabled, not a guarantee for every listening mode. ASUS’s up-to-46-hour figure is a manufacturer claim, not a directly comparable independent result. Those figures should not be used as a head-to-head battery ranking.
