Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallFor most WordPress sites, the best choice depends on where you want data to live and how much measurement you need. Choose Site Kit by Google for a free, official connection to Google Analytics, Search Console, AdSense, PageSpeed Insights and Tag Manager. Choose MonsterInsights or ExactMetrics when you need guided GA4 reports for ecommerce, forms, campaigns and events inside WordPress. Choose Independent Analytics or WP Statistics when privacy, local storage or reduced dependence on Google matters more than the Google ecosystem.
This guide compares what each plugin measures, where the data is stored, setup requirements, costs, privacy implications and the best fit for publishers, stores, membership sites and agencies.
Quick picks: which WordPress analytics plugin should you use?
| Plugin | Best for | Data model | Notable capabilities | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Site Kit by Google | Free official Google integrations | Google-hosted services | Analytics, Search Console, AdSense, PageSpeed Insights, Tag Manager and site/post dashboards | Requires a live public site, Google setup and appropriate consent controls |
| MonsterInsights | Beginners, agencies and WooCommerce businesses | Google Analytics 4 surfaced in WordPress | Ecommerce, forms, campaigns, source/medium, landing pages, affiliate links and technology reports | Advanced reporting is paid; renewals are at the regular price |
| ExactMetrics | No-code GA4 dashboards and real-time reporting | Google Analytics 4 surfaced in WordPress | Acquisition, real-time behavior and ecommerce integrations for several commerce, membership and fundraising plugins | Google Analytics remains the underlying data platform |
| Independent Analytics | Privacy-oriented WordPress reporting | Data kept in the WordPress environment | Simple, privacy-friendly page and post statistics | Does not provide the full Google marketing ecosystem |
| WP Statistics | Self-hosted and cookieless statistics | Stored on your WordPress site | Historical reports, dashboard views and cookieless mode | Bot traffic may require filtering; ecommerce support is not listed in the comparison reviewed |
| Analytify | GA4, events and ecommerce with a free entry tier | Google Analytics 4 surfaced in WordPress | Dashboard, event, ecommerce and GDPR-oriented features | The cited Pro price is a dated comparison figure and should be verified before purchase |
There is no evidence that one of these plugins is objectively fastest or produces higher conversion rates. The practical difference is the data workflow: Google-hosted measurement, a local WordPress database, or a hybrid dashboard that makes GA4 easier to use.

How to choose a WordPress analytics plugin
Decide where the data should live
Google Analytics stores and processes the main dataset on Google’s platform. This makes it easy to combine traffic with advertising, Search Console and audience reports, but it creates a third-party dependency and a consent obligation in many jurisdictions.
Self-hosted or cookieless tools keep more of the reporting process in WordPress and can reduce reliance on third-party cookies. They still require security, backups, retention rules and an honest privacy notice. Local storage is not automatically exempt from privacy law; it changes the technical arrangement, not your legal responsibilities.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Match measurement depth to the decisions you make
- Page views and popular posts: a lightweight local plugin is usually sufficient.
- Acquisition and search performance: Site Kit’s Search Console and Analytics connections are useful when Google services are already part of your workflow.
- Forms and lead generation: use a plugin with form-conversion and campaign reports, then define what counts as a successful submission.
- Online stores: verify support for your cart, checkout and payment flow rather than assuming that a generic page-view tracker records purchases correctly.
- Membership, courses or fundraising: check whether your specific plugin—such as MemberPress, MemberMouse, Restrict Content Pro, GiveWP or LifterLMS—is supported.
Consider who will read the reports
Site owners who rarely open Google Analytics benefit from an actionable WordPress dashboard. Agencies may prefer standardized GA4 properties and the ability to export or compare multiple sites. A technically comfortable publisher may value local storage more than a polished marketing report.
Site Kit by Google: best free official integration
Google’s WordPress.org listing describes Site Kit as the official WordPress plugin from Google for insights about how people find and use a site. It is free and open source. The plugin can connect a site to Google Analytics, Search Console, AdSense, PageSpeed Insights, Tag Manager, Sign in with Google, Reader Revenue Manager and Google Ads, then present key metrics in WordPress.
What Site Kit shows
- Whole-site traffic and acquisition metrics.
- Performance for individual posts and pages.
- Search visibility through Search Console.
- Advertising and monetization information when AdSense is connected.
- Page experience and performance information from PageSpeed Insights.
- Tag deployment through Tag Manager, where that setup is appropriate.
Requirements and setup
The listing requires a live, publicly accessible site, WordPress 5.2 or newer, PHP 7.4 or newer, a modern browser and an available WordPress REST API. A site behind a maintenance screen, password wall or restrictive firewall may fail the verification process.
- Install and activate Site Kit from the WordPress plugin directory.
- Start the setup wizard and sign in with the Google account that has access to the relevant services.
- Verify ownership when prompted and allow the requested service connections.
- Connect Analytics if you need visitor and event reporting; connect Search Console for search queries and indexing information.
- Review the consent configuration before collecting analytics, especially if visitors come from regions where consent is required.
- Open the Site Kit dashboard to confirm that data is arriving, then inspect an individual post to check page-level metrics.
Site Kit is the clearest default for a publisher who wants a no-cost, official dashboard and already uses Google’s services. It is less suitable when keeping analytics entirely inside WordPress is a firm requirement.
MonsterInsights: guided GA4 reports for businesses and stores
MonsterInsights focuses on turning Google Analytics data into reports that non-specialists can use in wp-admin. Its documented reports include ecommerce conversion, average order value, top products, referral sources, form conversion, PPC ad tracking, campaign and source/medium performance, landing pages, technology, site speed, search keywords and affiliate-link activity.
Why businesses choose it
- Important GA4 reports are organized inside WordPress rather than hidden across multiple Analytics menus.
- Ecommerce reports help connect traffic sources with orders, revenue and product performance when the store integration is configured correctly.
- Form, campaign and affiliate-link reporting supports lead-generation and content businesses.
- Agencies can give clients a simpler dashboard without teaching every GA4 interface.
Cost and requirements
The official pricing page captured in 2026 shows a Plus introductory price of $99.50 per year and states that renewals are charged at the full price. Treat the introductory amount as a first-term offer, not a permanent annual rate. The plugin requires at least WordPress 4.9 and works on standard WordPress installations and WordPress.com Business plans.

Note: This device is not compatible with Linux.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
MonsterInsights was listed at more than two million active installations in the 2026 WordPress.org analytics-category capture. That is an adoption figure, not an independent quality or performance test.
Best fit and trade-offs
Choose it when your priority is guided reporting for a WooCommerce store, forms, campaigns or affiliate links and you accept Google Analytics as the underlying platform. Before activating tracking, map your consent banner, exclude internal traffic and test a purchase or form submission in a staging or low-risk environment. The plugin does not remove the need to configure GA4 events and privacy controls correctly.
ExactMetrics: no-code GA4 dashboards and real-time views
ExactMetrics presents Google Analytics reports in WordPress with an emphasis on no-code setup. Its documented dashboard includes acquisition sources, real-time visitor behavior and ecommerce tracking. Integrations are described for WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, MemberPress, MemberMouse, Restrict Content Pro, GiveWP and LifterLMS.
When ExactMetrics is a good match
- You need a quick view of who is arriving, from which channels and what they do next.
- Your site combines commerce, memberships, courses or donations and uses one of the documented integrations.
- Editors and clients need real-time and acquisition reports without opening the full GA4 interface.
ExactMetrics reported more than 1,000,000 active installs in a 2026 page capture. That figure indicates scale, not independent evidence that it is faster or more accurate than alternatives. A customer statement on its page describes the setup as simple and the results as clearly displayed; that is a testimonial, not controlled testing.
What to verify before installing
Confirm that your specific checkout, membership level or donation flow sends the events you care about. A plugin can support a platform in general while still requiring configuration for refunds, subscriptions, one-time payments or custom forms. Also check which reports are included in the tier you plan to renew.
Independent Analytics: a privacy-oriented WordPress alternative
Independent Analytics is described in the official WordPress.org analytics category as a simple but powerful privacy-friendly statistics plugin. It is designed for readers who want useful page and post metrics without making Google Analytics the center of the measurement stack.

- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
The 2026 directory capture lists more than 100,000 active installations. Its local WordPress approach can simplify a small publisher’s workflow: editors can inspect traffic next to post lists, while the site owner avoids sending routine page-view data to a separate analytics property.
What it is best at
- Understanding which posts and pages attract visits.
- Keeping a straightforward reporting workflow in WordPress.
- Reducing dependence on third-party analytics services.
It is not a one-for-one replacement for Search Console, advertising attribution or the broad event ecosystem available in GA4. If you need detailed cross-site journeys, paid-media attribution or a large ecommerce schema, use a tool that explicitly supports those requirements.
WP Statistics: self-hosted and cookieless reporting
WP Statistics offers self-hosted statistics, a cookieless mode and historical reporting. A comparative table from Liquid Web lists dashboard reports, partial GA4 support and a free version, while showing no ecommerce tracking in that comparison. Treat that table as a description of the compared version, not a promise that every release has identical features.
Advantages
- Data can remain on the WordPress installation rather than being sent to Google Analytics.
- Cookieless operation may reduce the tracking surface for basic traffic statistics.
- Historical views are useful when you want long-term trends in one dashboard.
Important cautions
Bot traffic can inflate counts and may need filtering. Review crawler exclusions, compare unusual spikes with server logs and avoid treating every recorded request as a human visitor. Self-hosting also makes database size, backups, access control and retention your responsibility.
Analytify and other lightweight options
Liquid Web’s comparison lists Analytify with dashboard reporting, GA4, event tracking, ecommerce tracking, GDPR support and a free version. The same table gives a Pro starting price of $59 per year, but that is a dated comparison figure; verify the current price, renewal terms and included integrations on the vendor’s current page before buying.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
The practical role for a lightweight option is clear: use it when you want a simpler WordPress dashboard than raw GA4 but do not need the broader service connections of Site Kit or the more extensive guided reports offered by the larger GA4 dashboard plugins.

How to install and validate analytics safely
1. Define the question before the tool
Write down the decision the report must support: which articles bring search visitors, which campaign generates qualified leads, or which product page leads to a completed order. This prevents collecting dozens of events that nobody uses.
2. Create a measurement plan
- Name the important pages, forms, products and campaigns.
- Define one conversion event for each business outcome.
- Choose consistent UTM naming for newsletters, ads and partnerships.
- Decide how long raw and summarized data should be retained.
3. Configure consent and exclusions
Coordinate the plugin with your consent-management tool. Decide whether analytics loads only after consent, whether cookieless aggregate measurement is permitted, and how visitors can withdraw consent. Exclude staff IP addresses where practical, but document the method because home and mobile addresses change.
4. Connect the service or enable local storage
Follow the plugin’s setup wizard, grant only the account permissions needed, and record which Google property or local database table is being used. On a multisite network, verify whether each site reports separately or shares a property.
5. Test before trusting reports
- Open the site in a private browser session and confirm that the consent state behaves as intended.
- Trigger a page view, outbound click, form completion and test purchase when those events matter.
- Check real-time reporting or the plugin’s activity view.
- Compare one day of orders or submissions with the analytics conversions.
- Inspect page source and browser developer tools for duplicate tracking tags.
6. Protect the data
Limit WordPress administrator access, keep the plugin and WordPress core updated, back up local analytics tables and monitor database growth. For Google-connected tools, use separate user accounts rather than sharing one password.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Privacy, consent and data ownership
Installing a plugin does not by itself make a site privacy-compliant. Google Analytics generally involves third-party processing, identifiers and configurable cookies or storage. A local plugin may avoid sending data to Google but still records IP-related or behavioral information that needs a lawful basis, disclosure and retention policy.
Document what is collected, why it is collected, where it is stored, who can access it and how long it remains available. Provide a way to reject or withdraw optional analytics where required. If you operate across countries, obtain advice specific to your visitors and organization rather than relying on a generic plugin setting.
Costs and renewal traps
| Product or figure | Published amount | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Site Kit | Free | Core plugin and Google connections are presented as free; Google services still have their own account and policy requirements |
| MonsterInsights Plus | $99.50 per year | Introductory price shown on a 2026 capture; renewals are stated to be at full price |
| ExactMetrics | Not stated in the supplied figures | Check the current tier, limits and renewal terms |
| Independent Analytics | $48 per year | Dated Liquid Web comparison figure; verify current pricing |
| Analytify Pro | $59 per year | Dated Liquid Web comparison figure; verify current pricing |
| WP Statistics | Free version listed | Confirm which features, support and add-ons are included in the current release |
Annual prices can change, and feature gates matter more than the headline number. Price the plan that includes your required integrations, historical retention, support and number of sites, then check the renewal amount before entering payment details.
Troubleshooting common reporting problems
Numbers are lower than expected
Check consent status, ad-blocking, caching, JavaScript errors, duplicate or missing tags and whether the site is using the intended Analytics property. A decline immediately after enabling a consent banner may reflect visitors declining measurement rather than a traffic collapse.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Orders appear but revenue is wrong
Verify currency, tax, shipping, refunds, subscription renewals and the event sent at the payment-confirmation step. Test a complete transaction instead of assuming that a product-page view represents a purchase.
Traffic is unusually high
Inspect bot and crawler filtering, referral spam, staging domains and internal monitoring tools. WP Statistics documentation and comparisons specifically caution that bot counts may need filtering; the same diagnostic principle applies to any analytics stack.
Reports do not appear in WordPress
Confirm the connected account, property, REST API availability, server time and user permissions. Clear stale authentication only after recording the existing property selection, then reconnect and allow processing time for non-real-time reports.
