Hexolite Quartz (often shortened to “Hexo Quartz” by players) is a Feybreak-exclusive crystal. Mine the pale rocks with a faded rainbow sheen on Feybreak, or unlock the Hexolite Quartz Mine at Technology 62 and assign Mining-suitable Pals to produce it in a base. Hexolite is the late-game alloy made from Chromite, Hexolite Quartz, and Ore.
Prefer not to run the server on your own PC? Godlike.Host offers hosted Palworld servers with free DDoS protection and up to three free backups a day.
The important distinction is that quartz and Chromite are separate Feybreak resources. You need both, plus ordinary Ore, for every Hexolite craft, so a reliable supply chain combines surface mining, dungeon searches and eventually base automation.

Hexolite Quartz and Hexolite at a glance
| Resource | Where it comes from | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Hexolite Quartz | Distinctive quartz rocks on Feybreak; a Hexolite Quartz Mine can also produce it | Ingredient for Hexolite and a construction cost for the automated mine |
| Chromite | Most commonly Feybreak dungeons, buried deposits and subterranean Alpha Pal areas | One of the three ingredients in Hexolite |
| Ore | Ordinary Ore supply from your existing mining operation | Required in the Hexolite recipe alongside Chromite and quartz |
| Hexolite | Crafted in the appropriate late-game furnace | Late-game alloy used for equipment, ammunition, mobility items and advanced structures |
These materials are not interchangeable. A large stockpile of quartz does not replace Chromite, and finding Chromite does not solve a quartz shortage. Plan them as two different collection jobs.
Where to find Hexolite Quartz
Mine the pale rainbow-faded rocks on Feybreak
Hexolite Quartz is found only on Feybreak. Look for quartz formations that are mostly white with a washed-out, rainbow-like coloration. Those formations are the resource nodes to mine; ordinary stone or other ore deposits do not yield Hexolite Quartz.

- (C) PALWORLD
- Travel to Feybreak and search the terrain for the pale, rainbow-faded quartz formations.
- Approach a formation and use your equipped mining tool or a Pal capable of mining it.
- Collect the quartz that drops, then mark the location mentally or on your map so you can return when a crafting project needs another batch.
- Deposit the material at your base before beginning a long expedition, because the mine and several Hexolite recipes consume quartz in substantial quantities.
There is no merchant purchase route in the current shop records. If a vendor does not list the item, that is expected; gathering on Feybreak or producing it at a base are the dependable methods.
Expedition route: Dark Cave of Feybreak
A current 1.0 acquisition record also lists the Expedition Dark Cave of Feybreak as a possible reward route. Expedition tables can change between patches, so treat this as a version-sensitive supplement rather than a guaranteed farm. If your expedition menu does not show Hexolite Quartz as a reward, return to node mining or use the mine structure instead of spending time trying to force an unavailable table.
How to recognize a quartz shortage
- You have Chromite and Ore but cannot complete a Hexolite craft.
- The Hexolite Quartz Mine is unlocked but cannot be placed because its 100-Quartz construction cost has not been met.
- Several late-game recipes are queued at once and your manually gathered supply disappears faster than expected.
In each case, the fix is more quartz—not a different furnace, a merchant search or a substitute material.
How to automate Hexolite Quartz
Unlock and construction requirements
The Hexolite Quartz Mine unlocks at Technology 62 for 5 Ancient Technology points. Building one requires 70 Stone, 100 Hexolite Quartz and 10 Ancient Civilization Parts. These are the documented unlock and construction figures for the current 1.0-era records; they are not an hourly production guarantee.

| Requirement | Amount | Practical implication |
|---|---|---|
| Technology level | 62 | You cannot use this automation as an early-game quartz source. |
| Ancient Technology points | 5 | Reserve enough points when planning your Feybreak progression. |
| Stone | 70 | Keep a basic stone reserve at the base where you will place the mine. |
| Hexolite Quartz | 100 | You must manually gather an initial stock before the structure can help you. |
| Ancient Civilization Parts | 10 | Do not spend the parts needed for the mine if sustained quartz production is your immediate goal. |
Placement and staffing procedure
- Open the Technology menu after reaching level 62 and spend 5 Ancient Technology points to unlock the Hexolite Quartz Mine.
- At a Palbox base, enter build mode and select the mine.
- Confirm that the base inventory contains 70 Stone, 100 Hexolite Quartz and 10 Ancient Civilization Parts.
- Place the mine inside the Palbox base boundary, leaving room for Pals to walk to it and for you to collect its output.
- Assign Pals with the Mining suitability to the base. Without a Mining-suitable worker, the structure does not have the worker needed to produce quartz automatically.
- Check the mine after assigning workers and verify that production is occurring before leaving the base unattended.
The mine is a production structure, not a free item generator. It consumes an unlock, construction materials, base space and worker availability. Its advantage is sustained output while you perform other activities; its documented records do not establish a standardized hourly yield, so no reliable rate should be assumed.
When automation is worth the investment
| Situation | Better approach | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| You need a small amount immediately and have not reached Technology 62 | Mine quartz nodes manually on Feybreak | The mine is unavailable before the unlock and also needs 100 quartz to build. |
| You have reached Technology 62, have the materials and a spare Mining-suitable Pal | Build the Hexolite Quartz Mine | The upfront cost converts later base time into ongoing production. |
| Your base is crowded or Pals cannot reach the structure | Continue manual mining until you can reorganize the base | Pathing and base-space constraints can prevent a nominally built mine from working efficiently. |
| You need quartz for a single expedition right now | Mine nodes directly | Manual gathering gives an immediate batch without waiting for production. |
How to make Hexolite
The documented recipe
Crafting 1 Hexolite requires:
- 5 Chromite
- 12 Hexolite Quartz
- 20 Ore
Use the appropriate late-game furnace for the recipe. The records identify the ingredients and quantities but do not establish a different ratio for alternate furnace models, so do not treat an unlisted furnace as a faster or cheaper substitute.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsBatch planning
| Hexolite desired | Chromite | Hexolite Quartz | Ore |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 5 | 12 | 20 |
| 2 | 10 | 24 | 40 |
| 5 | 25 | 60 | 100 |
| 10 | 50 | 120 | 200 |
Multiply the one-craft recipe by the number of alloy units you intend to make. This simple calculation prevents the common mistake of collecting enough quartz while overlooking the five Chromite or 20 Ore required for each craft.
A practical production order
- Decide which Hexolite recipe or recipes you are preparing for and calculate the total alloy requirement.
- Check your Ore storage first; it is the least specialized ingredient and is easy to overlook when focusing on Feybreak materials.
- Gather Chromite in Feybreak dungeons or with the detection methods described below.
- Mine or automate enough Hexolite Quartz to cover both the alloy batch and any quartz consumed by other projects, including construction of the mine itself.
- Return to the base, load the three ingredients into the late-game furnace and verify that the output is Hexolite before committing the rest of the stock.
Where to find Chromite
Search the locations where it is concentrated
Chromite is a separate Feybreak resource. Its item record identifies Feybreak dungeons as the most common source and also points to buried deposits and subterranean areas around Alpha Pal locations. These are better targets than wandering randomly across the surface.

Use detection tools and Pal abilities
- Metal Detector: use it while searching Feybreak for buried Chromite deposits.
- Smokie’s “Dig, Dog! Dig!” partner skill: this provides another way to locate Chromite in the field.
- Dungeons and subterranean Alpha Pal areas: check these when you want a focused search rather than a broad surface sweep.
Chromite cannot be replaced by Hexolite Quartz in the alloy recipe. If a furnace reports missing Chromite, changing mining tools or moving quartz between storage boxes will not solve that requirement; you need to run a Chromite search.
What Hexolite is used for
Hexolite is a late-game crafting alloy with a broad recipe footprint. The following items are documented as using it:
Armor and survivability
- Hexolite Armor
- Hexolite Helmet
- Heat- and Cold-Resistant Hexolite Armor
- Advanced Shield
- Advanced Chest
Choose defensive recipes first when Feybreak exploration or environmental hazards are stopping progress. Heat- and cold-resistant armor is particularly relevant when temperature protection, rather than raw damage, is the limiting factor.
Weapons and ammunition
- Energy Shotgun
- Laser Gatling Gun
- Overheat Rifle
- Plasma Cannon
- Several ammunition types
Weapon crafting has a second cost beyond the initial alloy: ammunition can consume more of your Hexolite stock as you use the weapon. If combat is your priority, reserve enough Chromite and quartz for both the weapon and its documented ammunition recipes before spending the remainder on base upgrades.

Mobility and exploration
- Air Walker boots
- Triple Jump Boots
Mobility items can be the best first investment for players who are still opening up Feybreak. Faster traversal and additional jump capability improve access to nodes, dungeons and underground areas, although they do not remove the need to gather Chromite separately.
Advanced production and storage
- Advanced Medicine Workbench
- Advanced Sphere Assembly Line
- Large-Scale Electric Egg Incubator
These structures support a base-focused progression path. Prioritize them when your limiting factor is medicine production, sphere manufacturing or large-scale egg incubation rather than direct combat power.
Specialized equipment and capture
- Exotic Sphere
- Silvegis Saddle
The Exotic Sphere supports a capture-oriented plan, while the Silvegis Saddle is a mount-specific progression choice. Their value depends on which Pal and capture goals you are pursuing, so avoid crafting them solely because Hexolite is available.

- Exploration bottleneck: select mobility equipment or environmental protection so Feybreak travel and resource runs become manageable.
- Combat bottleneck: make the weapon that matches your ammunition supply, then budget for the associated ammunition instead of spending the entire alloy reserve on a single gun.
- Base bottleneck: choose an advanced workstation, storage-related structure or incubator when production throughput is holding back every other project.
- Capture or mount bottleneck: direct alloy toward the Exotic Sphere or Silvegis Saddle only after confirming that your current goal benefits from that specialized item.
Because each Hexolite unit consumes five Chromite, quartz and Ore, crafting a complete equipment set can expose whichever input you have not been gathering. Keep a written or in-game tally rather than crafting items one at a time without a plan.
Manual farming versus automation
| Decision factor | Manual Feybreak mining | Hexolite Quartz Mine |
|---|---|---|
| Availability | Available as soon as you can reach Feybreak and mine the nodes | Requires Technology 62 and 5 Ancient Technology points |
| Upfront materials | Mining effort and your normal equipment | 70 Stone, 100 Hexolite Quartz and 10 Ancient Civilization Parts |
| Worker requirement | No base Mining assignment is required | Requires one or more Pals with Mining suitability assigned to the Palbox base |
| Space and pathing | Uses expedition time and carrying capacity | Needs a valid base placement and clear Pal access |
| Output timing | Immediate batch while you are on Feybreak | Ongoing production while the base and assigned workers function |
| Published yield | No standardized rate stated | No standardized hourly rate stated |
Use manual mining to solve an urgent shortage or to fund the mine’s 100-Quartz construction cost. Switch to automation when your repeated quartz demand justifies the Ancient Technology points, materials, base space and worker slot.
Troubleshooting common problems
The quartz rocks are not giving Hexolite Quartz
Confirm that the formation is the mostly white rock with a faded rainbow appearance found on Feybreak. Other rocks are not documented as Hexolite Quartz nodes. If the formation is correct, check that your mining action completed and that the drops entered your inventory rather than remaining on the ground.
The mine is built but produces nothing
- Verify that it is inside the active Palbox base area.
- Assign a Pal with Mining suitability; construction alone does not staff a production structure.
- Inspect the surrounding layout for blocked paths or a placement that leaves workers unable to reach the mine.
- Check the structure and storage after assigning the worker to confirm that production has started.
The mine cannot be constructed
Check all five requirements together: Technology 62, 5 Ancient Technology points spent on the unlock, 70 Stone, 100 Hexolite Quartz and 10 Ancient Civilization Parts. Missing any one of these prevents construction. The quartz requirement is deliberately significant, so gather a starter batch manually before expecting automation.
The furnace says an ingredient is missing
Compare your inventory with the exact one-unit recipe: 5 Chromite, 12 Hexolite Quartz and 20 Ore. A shortage of Chromite is common because it has its own dungeon and detection-focused search. A quartz surplus cannot compensate for missing Chromite.

The current Palworld Wiki records describe the 1.0 release and patch 1.0.5 dated September 14, 2026. Recipe quantities, Technology tiers, structure behavior and expedition reward tables can change in later patches. Recheck the in-game Technology menu, the furnace recipe and the expedition reward list after an update before relying on an older production plan.
The safest long-term assumptions are the distinctions rather than an unverified rate: Hexolite Quartz is the Feybreak crystal from pale rainbow-faded rocks; Chromite is a separate Feybreak search target; Hexolite combines five Chromite, 12 quartz and 20 Ore; and quartz automation requires the Technology 62 mine, its listed construction materials and Mining-suitable Pals.
