WZStats labels this a Black Ops 6 Multiplayer Season 6 recommendation and names five attachments:
- Optic: Willis 3x
- Muzzle: Ported Compensator
- Rear Grip: Ergonomic Grip
- Stock: Buffer Weight Stock
- Fire Mod: Rapid Fire
The page says it is up to date for Season 6, but also displays both “5 Attachments” and “8 Attachments.” The five named items are the explicit build; there is not enough information to fill the other slots. Compared on paper with CODMunity’s versatile setup, it swaps the Suppressor and Reinforced Barrel for a Ported Compensator and Rapid Fire, and uses an optic instead of the Vertical Foregrip. Season 6 recommendations from WZStats and CODMunity agree on six attachments but differ on the stock. Keep them as separate builds rather than combining the lists:

XM4 loadout for Warzone
For long-range Warzone, CODMunity’s Season 6 build lists:
- Optic: Willis 3x
- Muzzle: Compensator
- Barrel: Gain-Twist Barrel
- Magazine: Extended Mag III
- Stock: Buffer Weight Stock

How to choose an optic, barrel, and recoil attachments
Optic: choose for the sight picture and range
Magnification is a deliberate choice, not a universal upgrade. PC Gamer’s January 2025 Multiplayer guide names Merlin Reflex, Volzhskiy Reflex, Kepler Microflex, and Merlin Mini as visibility options, while the Season 6 Multiplayer and Warzone lists use the Willis 3x. Barrel: balance range goals with the mode
The documented builds use different barrels: Reinforced Barrel in CODMunity’s versatile Multiplayer setup, Long Barrel in PC Gamer’s dated Gunfighter build, and Gain-Twist Barrel in CODMunity’s long-range Warzone build. Activision’s Season 4 patch notes say Gain-Twist Barrel’s bullet-velocity improvement was raised from 40% to 45%; that is a patch-specific attachment change, not a claim about every current build. Recoil: pick the control attachment that fits your setup
PC Gamer’s January 2025 guide says Vertical Foregrip reduces horizontal recoil and Recoil Springs improve vertical and horizontal recoil control. Activision’s Season 4 notes document adjustments to Recoil Springs and Ported Compensator, including an increase to Recoil Springs’ vertical and horizontal recoil improvement from 15% to 18%. Magazine and handling: account for the trade-off
PC Gamer’s January 2025 guide says Extended Mag 1 raises capacity to 45 without the movement penalties it attributes to Extended Mag 2’s 60 rounds or larger options. Because that explanation comes from a dated guide, check current in-game attachment descriptions before relying on it. The source does not establish those trade-offs as current tuning.
Rapid Fire: prioritize rate of fire only if you accept the trade-off
PC Gamer presents Rapid Fire as an alternative to Recoil Springs for close-range focus, with a recoil-control trade-off. Its inclusion in WZStats’ Season 6 Multiplayer and Zombies builds does not make it the right choice for every range or playstyle.
Why there is no single definitive “best” build
Activision’s official Season 4 Reloaded notes state: “Our focus in Season 04 Reloaded is attachment tuning. When it comes to attachment balance, our goal is not for every attachment to be viable on every weapon.” The official notes also record XM4 attachment tuning, including the Gain-Twist Barrel and Recoil Springs changes described above. Activision describes assault rifles as medium-range primary weapons and outlines the game’s attachment categories in its launch weapons overview. That general role helps explain why a Multiplayer XM4 build may balance recoil, handling, and range, but it does not make Multiplayer, Zombies, and Warzone setups interchangeable. CODMunity lists XM4 base stats updated 25 September 2026: 270 ms ADS speed, 190 ms sprint-to-fire, 2,431 ms reload speed, 820 m/s bullet velocity, 800 rpm fire rate, and a 30-round base magazine. Older Gunfighter setup: use as a dated reference
PC Gamer’s January 2025 eight-attachment Gunfighter configuration is Merlin Reflex, Suppressor, Long Barrel, Vertical Foregrip, Extended Mag 1, Commando Grip, Light Stock, and Recoil Springs. The guide says a Compensator can replace the Suppressor for vertical recoil control, and Rapid Fire can replace Recoil Springs for close-range fire rate at the cost of recoil control.
