Yes, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is real—but the headline’s “reveal coming tomorrow” refers to April 21, 2025. Bethesda published its official reveal on April 22, 2025, and released the game that same day. It is now available on Xbox Series X|S, PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2.
What did Bethesda announce on April 21, 2025?
Bethesda teased an announcement for the following day. At the time, the remaster’s identity, platforms, and release date had not been formally confirmed in the contemporary report from Game Informer. The tease was therefore not yet confirmation that the announcement would be Oblivion Remastered.
Bethesda’s official reveal video appeared on April 22, identifying the project as The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered. The game launched that day as well. The reveal is no longer upcoming news; it is a completed announcement and release. Bethesda’s reveal video documents the announcement.
What is Oblivion Remastered?
It is a remaster of Bethesda’s 2006 role-playing game, retaining the original’s core and world logic while updating its presentation and systems. Bethesda says the remaster uses Unreal Engine 5 for its visuals and was developed in partnership with Virtuos. Virtuos Executive Producer Alex Murphy described the project this way: “Oblivion is the heart and soul of the Remaster.” These are the developers’ descriptions, not independent performance findings. Bethesda’s feature overview explains the approach.

“Reveal coming tomorrow” accurately describes the April 21, 2025 tease only when read from that date. The next day, Bethesda revealed the remaster and made it available. A current account should treat the headline as historical context, not as a signal that an announcement is still pending.
