Bethesda’s “tomorrow” meant April 22, 2025: that was the date of the official reveal stream for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, and the remaster launched the same day. The teaser was posted April 21, 2025, so the livestream is a past event, not an upcoming broadcast.
What Bethesda revealed
The stream, titled The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered – Full Reveal Stream, unveiled a remastered version of the 2006 role-playing game. Bethesda described its aim as updating the original rather than remaking it. In its launch retrospective, the studio said: “We never wanted to remake it – but remaster it – where the original game was there as you remember playing it, but seen through today’s technology.” Bethesda’s launch retrospective presents this as the studio’s collective perspective.
Xbox Wire reported that the remaster includes the original game’s Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles expansions. Its new visual presentation uses Unreal Engine 5, according to Xbox Wire’s April 22, 2025 launch announcement.
When was the livestream, and is the game out?
Bethesda announced the stream on April 21, 2025, for 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time the next day. The reveal appeared on April 22, and Xbox Wire reported the game’s release that same day. Platforms and edition updates
At launch on April 22, 2025, Xbox Wire listed Xbox Series X|S, PC through Steam and the Xbox app, cloud, and PlayStation 5. It also reported day-one Game Pass access; that launch-day report does not establish whether the game is currently in the subscription catalog.
Bethesda’s news listing later included a September 17, 2026 Patch 1.1 entry for a Nintendo Switch 2 edition. That entry establishes a later edition and update, but does not by itself confirm availability in every region or store. Check the official store for your platform for current availability and edition details.
