The announcement on October 15, 2026, came as the game passed 10 million pre-registrations on Google Play in India. BGMI Air is planned for release in India later in 2026, but KRAFTON has not published an exact launch date.
What changed
The project previously announced as BGMI LITE is now officially called BGMI Air. KRAFTON India presented the new name and the 10-million milestone together, saying the title is moving closer to its Indian launch. The announcement does not give a separate explanation for the rename beyond the change from the earlier BGMI LITE branding.

BGMI Air is intended to provide a lighter way to access the core BGMI experience. KRAFTON’s stated goal is to reduce storage barriers and reach players whose phones have limited available capacity. Gadgets 360 reports that it will be a separate game rather than an alternate mode inside the existing BGMI application.
Launch timing in India
KRAFTON has only committed to an India release later in 2026. No day or month has been announced, so the 10-million pre-registration figure should not be treated as a launch countdown or a confirmation of a specific release date.

To pre-register, Android users in India can open Google Play, search for “BGMI Air” (or the listing’s current title), and select the pre-registration option when it appears. Google Play will notify eligible users when the listing becomes available for installation. Availability of the listing can vary by account region and rollout status.
Recommended Free Tools
Existing BGMI players were told they could pre-register without transferring their BGMI account. Because BGMI Air is a separate game, readers should not assume that characters, inventories, rankings, settings, or other progression will automatically move between the two apps. KRAFTON has not published an account-continuity or migration system.

What is known about devices and platforms
| Item | Current information |
|---|---|
| Android | Pre-registration available on Google Play in India from August 25, 2026. |
| Initial download | Approximately 1GB was described in KRAFTON’s earlier announcement. |
| iPhone and iPad | Confirmed iOS availability and timing have not been published in the announcement coverage. |
| Minimum specifications | Final minimum device, operating-system, RAM, GPU, and chipset requirements have not been announced. |
| Relationship to BGMI | BGMI Air is planned as a separate game with a lighter-storage positioning. |
The 1GB figure suggests a smaller starting download than a conventional full-size mobile shooter, but it does not establish which phones will run the game smoothly. Performance will also depend on graphics settings, available memory, thermal limits, network conditions, and later content downloads. Wait for KRAFTON’s final requirements before deciding whether a specific low-storage phone is supported.
How BGMI Air may differ from BGMI
KRAFTON describes BGMI Air as a lighter route to the core BGMI experience, not as a complete feature-by-feature replacement. Current announcements do not provide a definitive comparison of maps, modes, graphics options, matchmaking pools, events, controls, or update cadence. Until those details are published, it is safest to view feature parity as unconfirmed.
Rank #4
- Tri-mode Connectivity: Wired for Xbox, 2.4G & Wired for PC, and Bluetooth for Android. The G7 Pro supports seamless connectivity across Xbox, PC, and Android. Effortlessly switch between modes using the convenient physical mode switch.
- TMR Sticks: The G7 Pro features GameSir's Mag-Res TMR sticks, combining Hall Effect durability with traditional potentiometer performance. This advanced technology delivers stable polling rates for smooth, drift-free gaming with low power consumption.
- Hall Effect Analog Triggers: The GameSir precision-tuned Hall Effect analog triggers provide unmatched smoothness and linear input for precise control. Featuring clicky Micro Switch trigger stops, gamers can easily switch based on their preferences.
- 1000Hz Polling Rate on PC: Experience ultra-responsive gaming with a 1000Hz polling rate on PC, available through both wired and 2.4G wireless connections. This ensures instantaneous input registration, reducing lag and optimizing your performance for the most competitive gameplay.
- GameSir Nexus App: The G7 Pro is compatible with the upgraded GameSir Nexus app, which brings a significant upgrade over the original. It introduces powerful new features such as gyro settings, stick curve adjustments, and button-to-mouse mapping, giving you deeper customization and more control than ever before.
The practical differences currently established are the separate application, the lower-storage objective, and the different launch status. Existing BGMI remains a distinct installation and account environment.
What the 10 million milestone means
More than 10 million India pre-registrations on Google Play indicate substantial interest before release. They do not equal 10 million active players, downloads, or guaranteed launch-day users. Pre-registration also does not confirm that every registrant’s device will meet the final requirements or that every account will receive access to a beta.
Best Value

What to watch before installing
- KRAFTON’s exact launch date for India.
- The open-beta start date, eligibility rules, and whether participation is limited.
- Final Android minimum specifications and supported operating-system versions.
- Any official iOS announcement.
- The final installed footprint after updates and downloadable resources.
- Whether progression, purchases, friends lists, or other data can be shared with BGMI.
Bottom line
BGMI LITE is now BGMI Air, and the separate lightweight game has exceeded 10 million India pre-registrations on Google Play. Android registration is open, an approximately 1GB initial download has been described, and an open beta is reportedly planned. The full India launch is scheduled only for later in 2026, with the date, iOS plans, final device requirements, and detailed feature differences still unconfirmed.
