The “big weekend” of free Star Wars games refers to offers reported on May 3, 2025—not a set of deals confirmed to be live now. That roundup named two PC games offered to Prime subscribers through GOG and a Fortnite cosmetic tied to account linking. By October 8, 2026, the cited May 2025 and May 2026 offer windows had passed, and no current Amazon giveaway was confirmed.
What the May 2025 roundup called free
Barry Collins’s May 3, 2025 Forbes article reported two Prime Gaming game offers and a Fortnite promotion ahead of that year’s May the Fourth celebrations. These details describe the historical offers, not current entitlements. Read the May 2025 roundup.
| Offer | Type and platform | Requirement and redemption | Date context |
|---|---|---|---|
| LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga | PC game | Prime subscription; redeem through GOG and have a GOG account | Reported May 3, 2025; current availability not verified |
| Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds Saga | PC game | Prime subscription; redeem through GOG and have a GOG account | Reported May 3, 2025; current availability not verified |
| Fortnite Stormtrooper outfit | Cosmetic for Fortnite | Connect Epic and My Disney accounts, according to the report | Part of the 2025 Galactic Battle season coverage; not a current entitlement |
The 2025 article also speculated that Epic might release another free Star Wars game around May 4, but said no title had been confirmed. It should be treated as an unconfirmed rumor, not as a giveaway that happened.
What the later 2026 offers do—and do not—show
StarWars.com’s April 30, 2026 coverage described Brawlhalla as free to play on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, PC, and Mac. It also listed May 2026 rewards for Star Wars: The Old Republic: a subscriber reward period and a login reward running from May 1 to May 22. Those dates have passed, so the coverage does not establish a live October offer. See StarWars.com’s May the Fourth 2026 coverage.
#1 Best Overall
- The following games are included in the cartridge: STAR WARS Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (3.6 GB)
- STAR WARS Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast (1.1 GB)
- STAR WARS Episode I Racer (254 MB)
- STAR WARS Republic Commando (2.5 GB)
- STAR WARS: The Force Unleashed (3.4 GB)
StarWars.com later reported a National Video Games Day sale on Xbox, Steam, and GOG through September 13, 2026. That sale window had also ended by October 8. A historical sale listing is not evidence that the same games or prices remain discounted. See the September 2026 sale notice.
How to check whether a Star Wars game offer is live
- Check the official promotion page and its end date before relying on a roundup or social post.
- Confirm the offer type: a permanently free-to-play game, a time-limited giveaway, a cosmetic, a login reward, or a discount are not interchangeable.
- Verify the platform, subscription or account-linking requirements, and redemption storefront. For the 2025 Prime offers, the reported route was Prime Gaming to GOG, with a GOG account required.
- Check the storefront’s own listing to confirm the game or reward is still claimable. GOG’s general storefront page does not by itself confirm those historical Prime promotions or their current stock. Visit GOG.com.
When checked on October 8, 2026, Amazon Gaming’s claims page returned a technical-difficulties message, so it did not confirm whether either 2025 offer remained available. Check Amazon Gaming for current claim information.
