The BIGBIG WON Rainbow 2 Pro is a feature-rich wireless controller presented by TechRadar as Switch-focused, with the same reviewer also testing it on PC. Its mix of Hall effect sticks and triggers, remappable controls, motion support and multiple connection options may appeal if you want flexibility; the trade-offs reported by reviewer Rhys Wood include fiddly switching between XInput and Switch modes and mushy-feeling stick clicks.
What is the BIGBIG WON Rainbow 2 Pro?
It is a wireless gamepad from BIGBIG WON. TechRadar’s separate review, by Rhys Wood and published 27 February 2024, describes it as Nintendo Switch-focused and reports testing it on both Switch and PC. A matching TechRadar headline dated 5 October 2023 is labeled sponsored; its full article text was not available, so its claims should not be conflated with the independent review.
BIGBIG WON lists three connection options: 2.4GHz wireless via a USB adapter, Bluetooth and wired connection. Exact compatibility and setup can depend on the device, controller mode and firmware. Check the official Rainbow 2 Pro support page and its manual for the mode and instructions that apply to your setup.

- Hall effect sticks and triggers: The TechRadar review identifies Hall effect components in both. The review also notes that the reviewer found the stick clicks mushy; that is a personal assessment, not a universal result.
- Remapping and extra controls: The controller supports customizable controls, and Wood praised its remappable extra buttons and button quality.
- Motion aiming: BIGBIG WON lists motion aiming, while the review describes gyro motion support.
- Trigger locks and RGB lighting: These are among the additional features described in the review.
- Connection and polling specifications: BIGBIG WON lists 1000Hz polling when wired and 200Hz over 2.4GHz wireless. These are manufacturer specifications, not independently measured results here; polling rate alone does not establish a competitive advantage.
BIGBIG WON provides product-specific manual, app, firmware and tutorial resources through its support page. The app resources cover PC, Android and iOS, and the page says to install the PC tool first for firmware upgrading. Follow the current instructions rather than assuming every customization or feature works the same way in every connection mode.
How does it feel to use?
In his February 2024 review, Wood praised the controller’s comfortable textured grip, button quality, remappable extra buttons and broad feature set. He also listed two drawbacks: switching between XInput and Switch is fiddly, and the thumbsticks feel mushy when clicked. Those are the reviewer’s observations from his use, not guarantees that every player will experience the same feel.

How long does the battery last?
Wood reported roughly 15 hours of wireless use on a full charge in his 2024 review. That is a reviewer-reported result, not a manufacturer guarantee or a battery test conducted under a stated standardized protocol. Actual runtime can vary with use and settings.
What did it cost, and what came in the bundle?
TechRadar’s 27 February 2024 review listed historical prices of $64.99 / £64.99 for the controller alone, and $79.99 / £79.99 for a package with an alternative D-pad, swappable thumbstick caps and a charging dock. These are review-era prices, not current quotes. Check regional availability, pricing and the exact package contents before buying.

Is the Rainbow 2 Pro worth considering?
It is worth considering if you want a controller with multiple connection methods, motion support and remappable controls, and the reviewer’s favorable comments about grip and buttons match your priorities. If easy switching between PC and Switch modes or a firm-feeling stick click matters most, Wood’s reported drawbacks deserve particular attention. Compare controllers using the same criteria—platform compatibility, connection and mode switching, comfort, controls, battery conditions, included accessories and current local price—rather than treating one review as a direct head-to-head verdict.
