What happened to T-Minus Zero Entertainment?
Vogel founded T-Minus Zero in 2023 with NetEase backing. In August 2025, he announced that the studio’s partnership with NetEase was ending. Game Developer later confirmed with Vogel that NetEase had shut down the studio after discontinuing funding. Game Developer reported the closure on August 29, 2025.

NetEase said it had reassessed its business priorities and was ending funding. Vogel, in a LinkedIn statement quoted by PC Gamer, said market conditions had prevented the studio from securing the additional financing it needed. Those are the parties’ separate accounts; the reporting does not establish another independently verified cause for the closure. PC Gamer quoted Vogel’s statement.
What game was the studio making?
T-Minus Zero was developing a third-person online multiplayer action game set in a science-fiction universe. Vogel said the team had advanced the project to a fully playable, hands-on demo and that it had generated interest. The reports do not say that the demo was released to the public.

Did T-Minus Zero release its game?
No. The studio closed before releasing a game. A playable demo marked development progress, but it was not a public or commercial launch; the project did not reach players as a released title.

A NetEase spokesperson told Game Developer: “This decision was made with careful consideration, as we have been inspired by our partnership with the studio and their bold vision.” The spokesperson added that the company had reassessed its business priorities and was working with the studio to provide support and explore next steps.

Vogel said NetEase had provided “ample runway and support,” including help finding potential investors and time and budget to build the playable demo. He also said that, despite the project’s progress and the interest it had generated, market conditions had prevented T-Minus Zero from securing the funding it needed.
