Here are the Chapter 6 bosses in Black Myth: Wukong, grouped by how you encounter them: the opening fight, optional Foothills bosses, the four armor-piece guardians, the secret Erlang fight, and the final sequence. The number depends on what a guide counts: Gamer Guides lists 14 encounters, including Erlang, while GameLeap lists 12 and leaves out Erlang and Cloudtreading Deer.

This roster follows Gamer Guides’ list and count of 14, which counts Poison Chief once and includes Erlang. GameLeap’s 12-entry list omits both Erlang and Cloudtreading Deer, so totals are not directly comparable unless the included encounters are specified. Gamer Guides’ Chapter 6 list and GameLeap’s list use different scopes.

Which bosses advance the main route?
Defeat Supreme Celestial Inspector first
Supreme Celestial Inspector is the opening Chapter 6 boss. Beating it grants the Somersault Cloud, which lets you fly around the region and reach its widely separated encounters.
Collect the four armor pieces
Gold Armored Rhino, Cloudtreading Deer, Feng-Tail General, and Emerald-Armed Mantis are the four progression bosses tied to pieces of Sun Wukong’s armor set. Defeating them lets you continue to Waterfall Curtain Cave, claim the staff, and proceed toward the final encounter.

Finish the final sequence
The Stone Monkey comes first; The Great Sage’s Broken Shell follows immediately in the same location. They conclude the main Chapter 6 sequence.
Optional bosses in the Foothills
After obtaining the Somersault Cloud, you can explore the Foothills and take on Poison Chief, Water-Wood Beast, Jiao-Loong of Waves, Lang-Baw-Baw, Son of Stones, and Giant Shigandang. These encounters are not all required to proceed through the main route.

Poison Chief
Poison Chief can be encountered in four locations. You do not need to defeat it in all four: a single victory records the journal entry and earns the associated trophy or achievement.
Giant Shigandang
Giant Shigandang is gated behind the Skandha quest. The quest involves finding a Skandha in each of Chapters 1–5; completing it provides the Skandha of Consciousness needed for this encounter.

Other Foothills encounters
Water-Wood Beast, Jiao-Loong of Waves, Lang-Baw-Baw, and Son of Stones are additional optional encounters in the Foothills. The published guides provide shrine-based directions and local landmarks for locating them, but their route descriptions differ in detail; use nearby shrines and explore the open region rather than treating these fights as a required boss chain.
What is unusual about Feng-Tail General?
Feng-Tail General is an interaction challenge rather than a conventional fight. Land on its back, then hold its antennae through three jumps without running out of stamina. It is one of the four armor-piece guardians, so completing it contributes to the progression route.

How to reach the secret Erlang fight
Erlang, The Sacred Divinity is an optional secret boss on Mount Mei, not part of the main route through the final Chapter 6 sequence. Reaching him requires completing earlier secret-area steps. Defeating him grants Azure Dome and the Tri-Point Double-Edged Spear, among other rewards.
Why Chapter 6 boss totals differ
There is no single useful total unless the count explains its scope. Gamer Guides reports 14 by including Erlang and Cloudtreading Deer while counting Poison Chief once, despite its four possible locations. GameLeap reports 12 and omits Erlang and Cloudtreading Deer. Use the names and categories above to track what you have encountered rather than relying on a total without its counting rules.
