Yum also described the physical sales as “very healthy,” but said Game Science kept the number private and that he respected that decision. There is therefore no supported physical-sales total or physical-versus-digital split to report.
Why did some players want a physical copy?
Yum singled out Spain and Italy as markets where physical demand surprised him. In describing the download, Yum used the phrase “100-gigabyte.” That is his wording in the interview, not a separately verified download-size specification. His broader point was that a physical copy could matter to buyers for whom downloading a large game is inconvenient or expensive.
When did the PS5 physical edition arrive?
Black Myth: Wukong launched digitally on PC and PS5 in August 2024. Game Science announced a PS5 physical edition in October 2024, as reported by Gematsu. The report listed it at $64.99 in North America and €69.99 in Europe at the time; those are historical listing prices, not confirmation of current local availability or pricing.

That later PS5 retail edition is distinct from a China-market deluxe preorder package reported before launch. The package should not be mistaken for the standard PS5 retail release or treated as evidence of its sales.
