A purported 20-map list circulated before Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was revealed, but it was not the official launch roster. Activision listed 16 multiplayer maps for launch: 12 Core maps for 6v6 and four Strike maps for 2v2 or 6v6. Nuketown was not a day-one map; the original 1950s version arrived in a post-launch update on November 1, 2024.
What did the Black Ops 6 map leak claim?
On August 3, 2024, Insider Gaming reported a purported list of 20 names attributed to the social-media account @betterthanalaix. The report said the account “seemingly” gained backend access; that phrasing was the outlet’s attribution, not independent confirmation that the names formed a final or complete roster. Insider Gaming’s leak report should therefore be read as historical rumor coverage.

Those 20 reported names should not be described as the confirmed full map list. Several labels differ from the official map names, and the rumor is not interchangeable with Activision’s launch roster.
What was the official Black Ops 6 launch map list?

The launch roster shares names such as Babylon, Red Card, and Vorkuta with the reported list, but overlap does not validate every leaked entry. For the day-one lineup, use the official 16-map roster above.
Was Nuketown in Black Ops 6 at launch?
No. Nuketown was absent from the October 25, 2024 launch roster. On October 29, Call of Duty announced that the original 1950s Nuketown would arrive on November 1 as a post-launch addition. The announcement called it “an exact — though graphically much improved — version of the original,” retaining its classic Nevada testing-site setting. “The original Nuketown is back!” was the announcement’s concise description. The announcement describes Nuketown as an update, not a separately purchased map. Its return was a later addition, so its appearance in the purported pre-reveal list did not make it part of the day-one roster.
Which Nuketown and other maps arrived later?
Keep the original Nuketown distinct from seasonal themed variants, and distinguish both from other maps added after launch.

No historical launch or seasonal list establishes the live playlist on October 8, 2026. The latest official seasonal map announcement cited here is dated October 7, 2025, and documents Season 06 additions—not the map rotation or active pool a year later. For current availability, check the in-game map list or a current official playlist announcement rather than treating this historical roster as a live rotation.
