Black Ops 6 preload and PC launch times in 2024
Activision’s PC announcement, published October 15, 2024, said digital PC pre-orders could preload starting October 21 at 9 AM Pacific Time. It scheduled the Microsoft Store PC release as a regional rollout on October 24, between 4 AM and 11 PM PT. Battle.net and Steam were scheduled to unlock on October 24 at 9 PM PT. The 9 PM PT Battle.net and Steam time was listed for October 24 even though Activision described October 25 as the game’s official release date. Pacific Time crossed midnight to October 25 in some regions; the announcement does not establish one local calendar date for every player.
Who could preload
Activision’s October 17 all-platform announcement said preloading began October 21 at 9 AM PT for all platforms. It included people who pre-ordered and subscribers to select Game Pass plans. Players with Call of Duty already installed would receive the preload as an automatic update; others could begin it through their platform storefront. To compare a PC with a tier, check the listed CPU, graphics card and video memory, system RAM, Windows version, and available SSD space. Meeting the minimum tier means matching the minimum specifications Activision published; it does not by itself establish a particular frame rate or visual setting.

How much SSD space does Black Ops 6 need?
The 102 GB figure belongs to Activision’s October 15, 2024 PC launch announcement, which specified “SSD required with 102 GB available space at launch” in all three tiers. The current official Call of Duty store listing gives 149 GB of available SSD space, or 78 GB if COD HQ and Warzone are already installed. Those values reflect different stated installation conditions from the 2024 announcement; the listing does not explain why the figures differ. Check what is already installed before downloading
Activision’s October 17, 2024 post said Black Ops 6 and Warzone were separate downloads on most platforms. It also said players could remove unused Call of Duty titles or individual modes to recover space.
