When did Black Ops 6 Season 05 launch?
Season 05 went live August 7, 2025, at 9 AM PT. The official Season 05 patch notes cover both the launch update and the later Reloaded update. Call of Duty’s July 29 season overview also announced the August 7 start and the three launch Multiplayer maps.
What were the three new launch Multiplayer maps?

World Motor Dynasty (W.M.D.)
W.M.D. returns as a reimagined 6v6 map set at an Italian luxury car manufacturer in Avalon. The patch notes characterize its area of operations as larger than the other launch settings described here; the overview notes the change from the original’s snowy setting.
What is the new Zombies map, Reckoning?
Reckoning is a new round-based Zombies map set in the Janus Towers of Project Janus Headquarters, above Liberty Falls. Call of Duty presented it as the culmination of the season’s Zombies story. It arrived with the Season 05 launch, rather than in Reloaded.

Jackpot
Jackpot is a 6v6 Multiplayer map set at Casino Luttazzi. Its described spaces include the casino floor, stage, terrace, and gazebo.

Reckoning Directed Mode
Directed Mode brings guidance for the Reckoning Main Quest and sets a 15-round cap. It is a guided way to play the map’s quest, added in Reloaded rather than at the season’s August launch.

Team Cranked returned in Reloaded. The September 2 overview also called out the Combat Bow, which appeared as an event-reward Scorestreak and a Zombies Support item.

- Returning modes: Snipers Only and Cranked Moshpit were among the returning modes listed in the season materials; Team Cranked returned with Reloaded.

What did Treyarch say about weapon balancing?
Treyarch’s September 3, 2025 patch notes said: “With our Season 05 update, we are targeting some of the weapons that are seeing lower overall usage than we would like.” That statement describes the developer’s balancing goal; it is not a published usage statistic or an independent balance assessment.
