The May 7, 2025 changes were part of Call of Duty: Warzone Season 03 Reloaded, not a shared set of balance changes for Warzone and Black Ops 6 multiplayer. Raven Software reported investigating Warzone match disconnects and adjusted the CR-56 AMAX, AK-74, and HDR; Ranked Play also replaced Fire Sale with Restock.
What Raven said about Warzone server disconnects
On Wednesday, May 7, Raven Software said it was investigating reports that some players were disconnecting from Warzone matches after the Season 03 Reloaded update. The studio said the issue was not due to known malicious attacks or activity. It did not provide an affected-player count or outage-duration figure.

In a May 9 follow-up, Raven said several issues that could cause disconnects had been fixed, while it continued investigating reports. That was a partial status update, not confirmation that every disconnect had been resolved. These entries document the May 2025 incident; they are not a report on Warzone server status today. Raven Software’s Season 03 Reloaded patch notes contain both updates.
Warzone weapon balance changes
The patch notes list the following before-and-after values for Warzone. They do not establish that these adjustments applied to Black Ops 6 multiplayer.

CR-56 AMAX
The AMAX took three adjustments: a lower headshot multiplier, a longer sprint-to-fire time, and slower movement while aiming down sights (ADS). Together, these changes reduced its headshot damage multiplier and made it slower to fire after sprinting and to move while aiming.
AK-74
Maximum damage dropped from 45 to 39. Raven said its aim was to give submachine guns more room in close-range fights while keeping the AK-74 a strong mid-to-long-range option.

Ranked Play: Restock replaced Fire Sale
In Warzone Ranked Play, Restock replaced Fire Sale as the public event. Raven said Fire Sale strategies had become more dominant than intended. The stated goal for the change was to reduce the incentive to stockpile cash and encourage players to spend it strategically throughout the match, especially in the mid-to-late game.

If you are troubleshooting a connection now
The May 7 report describes a historical Warzone issue; it cannot identify the cause of a current player’s connection problem. Activision’s general Black Ops 6 connection guide recommends checking the game’s server-status page first. If status is green and there is no alert, the guide suggests checking other possible connection factors, using wired Ethernet, and, for console players, running network tests and checking the platform’s service status. Those general steps are not evidence that an individual connection caused the 2025 Warzone disconnects.
