The Black Ops 7 Beta is no longer available. It ended on October 8, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. PT, so the “You don’t have access to the content” message cannot be fixed today by redeeming a code, reinstalling the beta, or restarting your launcher. The test ran from October 2 through October 8, 2025, with Early Access beginning October 2 and Open Beta access beginning October 5. Activision’s access guide confirms the beta has ended.
Why the message appeared during the beta
During the October 2025 test, the error was mainly an entitlement-recognition problem. Some players who had valid Early Access eligibility—including players who had already redeemed their codes—were incorrectly treated as if they had no access. The issue was reported across platforms, with particularly prominent reports involving Battle.net. Reported launch coverage indicated that the launcher or Call of Duty client had not synchronized the entitlement with the Activision account or storefront.
That meant the message did not necessarily indicate an invalid preorder or code. It could simply mean the entitlement had not refreshed correctly.
What Early Access required
- A preorder or pre-purchase of Black Ops 7.
- An active Game Pass Ultimate, Game Pass PC, or Game Pass Console subscription.
- An Early Access code redeemed through a participating retailer.
The supported platforms were Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Battle.net, Xbox PC, and Steam. Game Pass Core was not listed by Activision as an Early Access entitlement. The official beta information also distinguished between digital and physical purchases.

Digital purchases did not need a code
Digital preorders through the Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, Battle.net, or Steam were supposed to be validated automatically on the platform where the purchase was made.
Physical-retailer purchases did need registration
A physical-retailer preorder code had to be registered at callofduty.com/betaredeem. After selecting a platform, Activision supplied an Early Access token on the redemption page or by email. The selected platform mattered: a code registered for one platform was not a universal entitlement for every linked console or PC account.

Historical fixes that helped while the beta was live
These steps were useful during the October 2025 access problem, but they cannot reopen an ended beta.
1. Re-register a retailer code
- Open callofduty.com/betaredeem.
- Sign in to the Activision account used for the purchase or original redemption.
- Enter the retailer-issued Early Access code.
- Select the intended platform.
- Retrieve and redeem the resulting platform token.
If the site said the code was already redeemed, entering it again would normally fail. That message did not necessarily mean the entitlement was missing; it could indicate that registration had succeeded but the launcher had not synchronized.

2. Fully restart the launcher
- Battle.net: Exit Battle.net completely, relaunch it, and sign in again.
- Steam: Exit Steam, restart it, and check the Call of Duty library entry for an update or newly unlocked content.
- Xbox PC: Restart both the Xbox app and Microsoft Store. Confirm that the same Microsoft account owns the preorder or qualifying Game Pass subscription.
Simply closing the game window was not always enough; the launcher itself needed to refresh the purchase or code status.
3. Close and relaunch Call of Duty
Quit Call of Duty completely rather than returning only to its title screen, then launch it again. Some players reported needing to repeat this while beta services were stabilizing.

4. Join a friend’s active lobby
During the launch issue, some players bypassed the false access screen by joining a friend who was already in the beta. From the platform friends list or Call of Duty’s Social menu, selecting the friend and choosing Join could work if the friend was online, inside the beta, and in a joinable lobby. This was only a workaround—not proof that the account’s entitlement had been repaired.

If Call of Duty was already installed, Activision distributed the beta through a Call of Duty or Call of Duty: Warzone update. The beta then appeared as an installation or launch tile inside the client.

Players without Call of Duty installed were directed to search their platform store for Call of Duty, select the Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 beta tile, and download it. On Battle.net, the beta was expected to appear automatically in the game library.
Installing the wrong component, stopping the download before it finished, or launching before installation completed could produce an unavailable state similar to an entitlement failure. Activision also advised keeping the console online during installation, using the console’s current region, updating console firmware, and ensuring enough free storage.
Account and region issues
The entitlement was tied to the Activision account and platform used during registration. Use the same Activision account that redeemed the code or held the digital preorder. Linking a PlayStation, Xbox, Battle.net, or Steam account to a different Activision account could also prevent progression from carrying over. See Activision’s account-registration guidance.
Availability and purchase requirements varied by territory and retailer. Activision noted, for example, a nominal payment requirement for PlayStation players in Germany and a ¥1 payment requirement for Xbox players in Japan.

What not to try
- Do not buy or redeem another code: the beta has ended, so no new activation can provide access.
- Do not assume every digital preorder needed a code: supported digital storefront purchases were automatically validated.
- Do not treat Game Pass Core as Early Access eligibility: it was not included in Activision’s listed qualifying plans.
- Do not rely on changing your account region: Activision advised using the console’s current region for installation, but did not publish region-changing as an entitlement fix.
- Do not expect reinstalling to restore access: during the beta, the primary issue was usually entitlement or launcher synchronization, and reinstalling cannot revive an ended test.
Bottom line
If you are seeing “You don’t have access to the content” now, your account is not missing a currently unlockable Black Ops 7 Beta entitlement. The beta ended on October 8, 2025. The code-redemption, launcher-restart, client-restart, and friend-lobby workarounds only applied while the test servers were active.
