Military kill requirements vary for shotguns, launchers, and melee weapons; Special Camo tasks vary by weapon. Use the current official weapon tracker to confirm the exact requirements for the gun you are grinding.
How BO7 Zombies camo progression works
Camo challenges are tracked separately for each weapon. Complete that weapon’s nine Military Camos in sequence, then unlock its three Special Camo challenges. Those three can be completed in any order once available. Activision says, “Each weapon has three Special Camo Challenges that unlock the Special Camo for that weapon.” After the Special Camos, work through the four Zombies Mastery tiers.
Military and Special camos you have earned on a weapon can be equipped on that weapon in any mode. Mastery Camos are also unlocked per weapon and can be used only on that weapon. The later Mastery requirements include cross-weapon totals, but those totals do not replace the individual weapon challenge attached to a tier.
All nine Zombies Military Camo challenges
The standard progression uses Critical Kills for most weapon classes. The listed kill totals are cumulative challenge targets for the individual weapon; the required kill type changes for some classes.

For ordinary weapon categories, “qualifying kills” means Critical Kills. Activision’s progression guide also identifies Point Blank Kills for shotguns and eliminations for launchers and melee. These are class-level rules, so check the current tracker for the exact weapon—especially for a weapon added in a later season. Special Camos are different for each weapon
Once all nine Zombies Military Camos are unlocked on a weapon, its three Special Camo challenges become available. Their objectives are not a universal checklist: they can call for different kill types, streaks, or equipment. The MPC-25 illustrates the variation. Activision’s tracker lists these MPC-25 tasks:

- Mutilate: Get 300 eliminations with the Napalm Burst Ammo Mod equipped.
- Slither: Get three Critical Kills consecutively five times.
- Pathfinder: Get 300 Point Blank Kills.
All three MPC-25 tasks require the weapon’s Zombies Military Camos to be unlocked first. These specific objectives belong to the MPC-25; do not assume they apply to another SMG or any other class. Open the official weapon tracker and select your weapon for its current requirements. The MPC-25 tracker details were published by Call of Duty Staff on November 13, 2025.
All four Zombies Mastery Camos
Mastery progression combines an individual weapon challenge with, at later tiers, requirements across a weapon class or a larger weapon total.

Golden Dragon
Unlock all three Zombies Special Camos on the weapon, then get 10 kills rapidly 15 times with that weapon.
Bloodstone
First unlock Golden Dragon on the chosen weapon and on every other weapon in its class. Then get 20 or more consecutive kills without taking damage five times with the chosen weapon. The number of weapons needed for the class step depends on the class: Activision’s MPC-25 tracker, for example, requires Golden Dragon on six SMGs.

Doomsteel
Unlock Bloodstone on 30 weapons, then eliminate 10 Elite Zombies with the weapon you are progressing. These are two separate requirements: the 30-weapon threshold does not substitute for the Elite Zombie challenge on the chosen weapon.
Infestation
Unlock Doomsteel on 30 weapons. The listed Infestation requirement is this cross-weapon milestone; it does not add another separate kill challenge for every weapon.

What to verify before grinding a weapon
- Military kills: Confirm the kill type shown for your weapon, particularly if it is a shotgun, launcher, or melee weapon.
- Special Camos: Check the three individual objectives, including any required Ammo Mod, attachment, or specific kill condition.
- Bloodstone: Verify the number of weapons required for the chosen weapon’s class in its tracker.
- Mastery progress: Keep the personal challenge for the chosen weapon separate from the 30-weapon thresholds for Doomsteel and Infestation.
- Seasonal weapons: Check the live official tracker rather than relying on a generic list, since added weapons may have their own requirements.
