On November 14, 2025, the day Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 launched, PC Gamer reported about 81,000 concurrent users on Steam’s Call of Duty listing, compared with about 236,000 playing Battlefield 6 at roughly the same time. That is a sharp gap in the reported Steam snapshot—but 81,000 is not a verified count for Black Ops 7 alone.
What were the Steam player counts on Black Ops 7’s release day?
PC Gamer’s November 14, 2025 report put the Call of Duty Steam listing at approximately 81,000 concurrent users and Battlefield 6 at approximately 236,000 at the time of its report. The Battlefield figure was about 2.9 times the Call of Duty listing’s count. These are approximate, near-simultaneous snapshots—not each game’s launch-day peak. PC Gamer’s report also put Arc Raiders at approximately 370,000 concurrent Steam users at that time.

Why 81,000 is not a confirmed Black Ops 7-only count
The reported 81,000 figure belongs to the Call of Duty listing on Steam, rather than a clean standalone Black Ops 7 player counter. SteamDB identifies the game’s Endgame entry as DLC attached to the parent Call of Duty app. The available reporting therefore does not establish how many of those concurrent users were playing Black Ops 7 specifically. SteamDB’s Black Ops 7 entry shows the relationship to the parent app.

The figures establish that, at PC Gamer’s report time on release day, the Call of Duty Steam listing had substantially fewer concurrent users than Battlefield 6. They do not compare the two games’ respective launch peaks: Battlefield 6 had already been available for over a month, having released on October 10, 2025, according to SteamDB.

Nor is this a comparison of total audiences. It covers Steam activity only, excluding players on other PC storefronts and consoles. Activision lists Black Ops 7 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Xbox PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Battle.net, Steam and Game Pass. Its Game Pass listing requires an active Game Pass Ultimate, Console or PC subscription. Those players are not captured by the Steam figures. See Activision’s platform information.
- Concurrent users: players online at a particular moment, as in the November 14 snapshot.
- Peak count: the highest concurrent count over a stated period, such as a 24-hour or all-time peak. It is not interchangeable with a point-in-time count.
- Total audience: players across platforms and storefronts, which this Steam comparison does not measure.
The snapshot does not establish sales, long-term retention, why players chose either game, or whether Battlefield 6 drew players away from Call of Duty.

Black Ops 7 and Battlefield 6 release dates
Activision lists November 14, 2025, as Black Ops 7’s release date. SteamDB records the Steam release at 05:00 UTC that day. Battlefield 6 released on October 10, 2025, according to SteamDB. The dates explain why the report is a release-day snapshot for one game and an already-established Steam audience for the other.

How to read Battlefield 6’s current Steam chart
A later chart reading is a separate snapshot, not a revision to the November 2025 comparison. When SteamCharts was accessed on October 8, 2026, it displayed 23,229 concurrent Battlefield 6 players at 2026-10-08 00:02:29 UTC, a 24-hour peak of 34,493 and an all-time peak of 656,067. The first two are time-sensitive chart values; the all-time peak is the maximum displayed by SteamCharts at that access date. Check SteamCharts’ Battlefield 6 page for its changing figures.

- Developed by Treyarch and Raven, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is a spy action thriller set in the early 90s, a period of transition and upheaval in global politics, characterized by the end of the Cold War and the rise of the United States as a single superpower.
- This is signature Black Ops across a cinematic single-player Campaign, a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, and the epic return of Round-Based Zombies.
- The Black Ops 6 Campaign provides dynamic moment-to-moment gameplay that includes a variety of play spaces with blockbuster set pieces and action-packed moments, high-stakes heists, and cloak-and-dagger spy activity.
- In a best-in-class Multiplayer experience, players will test their skills across 16 new maps at launch, including 12 core 6v6 maps and 4 Strike maps that can be played 2v2 or 6v6.
- Black Ops 6 also marks the epic return of Round-Based Zombies, the fan-favorite mode where players will take down hordes of the undead in two brand-new maps at launch. Post-launch, players can look forward to even more exciting maps and groundbreaking experiences dropping into both Multiplayer and Zombies.
Those later values should not be substituted for the approximately 236,000 concurrent Steam players PC Gamer reported at the time of Black Ops 7’s release-day snapshot. The numbers refer to different dates and, in the chart’s case, different measures.
